I am not sure why more players don't opt for higher numbers.

I mean I get the whole point that traditionally lower numbers are more sought after.

but is there anything stopping a player coming in and wanting to wear 99? as an example

Totally agree,

I’d be begging for #69, just for the laughs

It’s not allowed

Ben brown had to get permission to wear #50

Like Hardeman getting 17. He looks like someone who’d really buy into the club’s history and strive to do Aylett’s number good. Casuals would know 18 and 29, but they don’t come any bigger than AA at North
It's great to have another man in 17, Hardeman will do Kym Hodgeman proud.

Excuse my ignorance but permission from who?
This guy.

sesame street the count - Bad Books, Good Times

Any bloody wonder poor old Hughie barely broke into a canter while heading back from his waaaayyyy tooo long break - he's been summonsed by Death himself with the #1

I dunno mate, you’d want to be an outright superstar to pick 23. That number is synonymous with sporting legends.

Shane Clayton might have played in a premiership. But he wasn't THAT good.

Didn't miss a game in a Premiership season, playing 99 games overall, and he only cost us a 7th round draft pick.

Second all-time in games played wearing #23 behind David Dench.

He wasn't too bad in his first 2 or 3 seasons but fell away almost as quickly as McAdam after that.

Ugghh. 99 games. Why is my first thought that he has a son who's the next Buddy/Dusty/'generational talent'?

No 23. Guess nobody wanted it?
Prestigious sporting number and one of my favorites, as much as choosing favourite numbers is irrational and stupid. Really surprising no one's taken it

Shan Atley played 234 games in 18. You can debate Shaun's quality but to say the jumper is cursed is ridiculous.

As I said the number since Carey left is cursed

What’s with Brady on crutches, been on them for awhile now

Also the man is so monotone and boring should have let clarko present again
his legs have just given up from carrying that nose all these years
