it seems as though many dters are considering trading for luke power enlight of his massive price drop. now i do believe that luke is a champion, but going by recent form (which is the only thing you can go by) he is somewhat struggling to produce constitent high scores. IMO it seems like a wiser trade to trade for someone like peter burgoyne, who is in sintilating form and seems to be injury-free thus far plus he is 10k cheaper than power (which may not seem like a lot but can prove handy in the future). another key factor is that in recent weeks luke power has been tagged by opposition teams, restricting him to very low scores whereas burgoyne hasnt and most likely will not in the future be tagges as the likes of chad cornes and shaun burgoyne are much more dangerous players. if opposition teams continue to tag luke you are guaranteed to see another massive decline in price and will be able to trade a much lesser play for him and be able to retain more money in your salary cap space.

this is just one dreamteamers thought and i can understand why one would disagree.

nup get on him now has a low b/e so will go back up this week and will never fall this low again this year

purgoyne will start to get tagged now that they realise he has recaptured his form of 2 years ago

go power i certainly will do this week

you think he will get tagged with his brother, probably one of the best clearance players in the comp, and chad cornes, probably top 10 most effectively players in the comp, also in the team? seems unlikely to me.

Can anybody tell me when the last time C Cornes was tagged???? 2-3 years ago maybe. Thats the beauty of C Cornes he is a back player who occasionally plays in the midfield. Burgoyne will start to get tagged soon could go close to the first tagged the way he is going.
L.Power has been tagged most of his career and is used to it. Most notibly last year when Brisbanes midfeild sucked and still scored well.
He is slowly getting better and is a steal at 300.0

In a nutshell go Power instead of the Power Player :)

luke power averaged 99 last year.
the 3 years before that he averaged just under 90.
the last 4 years power has strung together 20+ game seasons.

peter burgoyne has been inconsistent at best, and injury prone. one year averaging 90, one year averaging 80, and less all the other years. his whole career he hasnt been able to string 22 games together.

i think thats a compelling enough argument,

If anyone was actually watching the game on Friday night they'd know that Peter Burgoyne was being tagged.

I got him at $260,00 and I'd recommend against it. Although he's been great so far he will drop because he just doesn't mark enough or rack up enough possies.
He's one of those guys who value is in how effectively he uses the ball. With him it's quality not quantity and for DT that's not what you want.
Anyone who says Peter Burger won't get tagged is a ****ing idiot with no idea. He is too good for opposition coaches to ignore.

But there is no way i'd be getting him over Power.

i agree but chad has been tagged in the last few years in fact this week he will most likely get tagged and beaten by one cameron bruce

last year bruce tagged him and although he got injured early he played out the majority of the game and bruce had 29 touches and cornes had well 5 touches and 14 dream team points

chad is a very good dter but also and inconsistent one

he will have a week less then 50 in the next 3 weeks and could easily be this week

Bit harsh on a bloke that punctured his lung in that match and missed the next two weeks!

Come on a punctured lung is no excuse he should have tuffed it out he is obviously a dud and we should all trade him for Mal Michael guaranteed to get 30 points a game:D

luke finished training early yesterday, came off with a knee injury, had it slightly strapped.

will this deter anyones trading?? the brisbane guys reckon it was just precautionary and he will line up this week.

i'm actually concentrating on getting gilbee this week anyway, but if luke's price goes up very little may consider him next week.

have a solid midfield with bruce, west, judd and surprise packet rodan
with lappin, goodwin and hadley rounding it out.

really want him tho but need to get kosi out of starting lineup.

I was keen on picking up power this week but i not so sure now. Even if he plays i don't like the idea of brining in a player who's under any sort of injury cloud.

ye but you have to understand that this happens to most players. he prob just felt a bit sore and told the trainers and they decided to rest him. hell still be good and average 90+

I've posted this in another thread, well along similar lines.

Alot of dreamteam coaches are ditching Rischitelli for Power. Power is just slightly more expensive than Rischitelli at the moment.

Rischitelli has been averaging 85.6 this season, and that will only improve as the season progresses, he hasn't played many games and will only get better as the season continues, so expect that to be in the 90's by seasons end.

Power has averaged very well in the past few years, this could well be his year where he dosen't preform very well. So why are people trading out Rischitelli for Power? Your'e risking a 90 average (at least) for Power, whos best from previous years is maybe behind him, so maybe a few points here and there, and overall will cost you 1 trade.

Thats just my opinion on it, by the way I do have Rischitelli in my side, by seasons end he won't have to be upgraded as he would have upgarded himself.

You speak sense mate, i have been on the Rischitelli to Power trade all week. But after reading what you said before and just now it has made me think that this is a bad idea. It is a waste of a trade and really doesnt give me that much more to my side. I have decided to trade out Walker and trade in Bowden instead of the Rischitelli to Power trade.

This is the first time bigfooty has changed my mind completely.

yeah rischitelli to power is a wasted trade, cos i reckon risci will average about 85 this year, compared to powers 90. so its not really worth a trade.

I'm seriously considering Giansiricusa out and Power in. Gia has been very disappointing. I think he is getting too much time tagging and in the forward pocket (correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't seen the games and am just going off what I've read and highlights). Does anyone think that Gia will come good or do you think now is the perfect time to get off him?

Also I think you guys have the right idea with Rischitelli. He is a great player and can only get better. I went for P.Burgoyne instead at the start of the season but was seriously considering him.

Gia looked severly underdone in the first couple of weeks, but he's been encouraging in the last two. Definitely worth sticking with him IMO, he's more than capable of pulling hundreds in the next few weeks. He averaged 96 in games he wasn't injured in last year.

I'm definitely keeping him.

Ahh well then I have gave something back to BigFooty Forum then.
It's not often that you actually listen to people on the boards, iv'e only took on board a few good posts in my time on here.
Hope it works out for you mate, we should discuss some intesne trading options in the future :)
By the way Bowden in this week is a very good choice, and at 309k won't get any cheaper, and from here on expect to see plenty 95+ scores on a regular basis.

Gia was on this weeks dream team episode
he was saying that the lack of time he has spent in the mildfield is costing him points.
He's reassured me that he's worth keeping after saying he's going to try and get more points by getting more kicks, tackles etc.. good enough for me.
