The question now is will we appeal??

Will the lure of another 7goal hall get the cats to appeal, or will we put our tail in our legs and look to McCarthy.

Do we play BG at FF , Mooney at FF or do we try sombody like Mackie, who will have to much pace for Fletcher, can mark a lead and is an sound kick.We have relied so heavily on the passes into the forward line , we will continue to rely on ballpossession/supply rather than asking him to take big grabs against DF

Whether or not he plays at FF, id dare say that Fletcher will man up Graham. This could be a good advantage for us as we can move him away from FB and leave someone there who might be slow on the lead, or even play king there, and they'll be too weak if we bomb it in.

Always the alternative of playing Gazza or Riccarid out of full forward, strong hands and quick on the lead would be a hard matchup. Oh, and they can finish!

McCarthy simply must play.

He is the only forward on our list capable of taking contested marks on a regular basis, that alone should be enough to get him selection.

When hes been put on a good defender, as would happen on Sunday hes shown hes not good enough, take the adelaide game for example. Also, given he cant kick a goal anyway there is not much point giving him a go as he will be in to kick goals. Id rather see an alternative player in the ruck and Steven King at FF. Given Essendon has Allan who is slow and Hille who is a solid player, would it be too much to ask Mooney and Chambers/Playfair to ruck for the game and just give a contest? Neither Hille or Allan are imposing figures. King is more likely than McCarthy to kick a bag of goals. Id prefer to see a quick strong marking player, (like i said before ricco ablett or chappie) playing out of the goal square and being a leading target.

Perhaps, still believe he has the best credentials of the available replacements (given the role).

Using that rationale, Kant Kicksley should never play for us again. Even McCarthy's conversion is better than Kant's.

Mooney isn't fit, couldn't be effective in the ruck.
They've shown an unwillingness to play H there, and Chambers is a back up only.
Don't think we could win a final if we had to rely on an unfit Mooney and Unco in the ruck.

In that case, id probably go with Henry, but regardless of who plays there we are going to need Haynes Johnson Ablett Chapman and Graham to kick 2-3 each, which isnt out of the question.

I would love to see them give H at least a half in the ruck, but because they haven't explored the option, he doesn't have the technique yet.

I still maintain H is the most talented tap ruckman on our list (King aside), but the club seem unwilling to give him a real go there.

This is a very big hypothetical, but what if McCarthy comes in kicks 5 and we win very well and come away with no injuries or suspensions, would Kingsley get a game???

Indeed very hypothetical.

Well assuming we win and match up against Brisbane, I would suspect Kingsley would get a gig, though perhaps at the expense of someone else.
