Knightmare what are your thoughts on Sam Kerridge? With Richmond likely to have between picks 10-14 would he be a good pick-up if Grigg, Hoskin-Elliot and Kavangh are all taken before Richmond's pick?

Probably a few more solid selections before Kerridge should come under consideration.

The thing with Kerridge is that while he has talent. He will take that little bit longer and is less of a sure thing than a Tyson/Grigg/Buntine amongst others who already look like they could step in an have a strong impact at AFL level.

Probably wouldn't take him inside my top 20 unless he finished the season off super well and really stood out at draft combine.

Could be an interesting 2nd round option if still available though.

Hey Knightmare, love your work mate. Just curious of how you rate the QLD boys this year? I noticed you don't have any in your draft (apart from Zorko, who deserves a shot). Admittedly it was an average team but there are certainly a few boys who are draftable and attracting interest.

Sexton will go to GC. But I know for a fact that Yagamoor and Allen are attracting significant interest from quite a few clubs. Thurlow has been invited to state screening but he is quite ordinary imo.
What are are your thoughts on these players and their potential placement within the draft?

Not a super strong class of QLDers this year.

Zorko I think might go in the main draft.

Yagmoor has been mentioned as one who Gold Coast might take via Zone Selection. If not then likely would go in national draft.

Jackson Starcevich as a Collingwood F/S option might be a chance.

Also Sam Michael I consider a chance. Average year this year but previously i've been impressed. Good size. Late-rookie chance.

A few others in the mix, but more as rookies if they do get drafted I'd say at this stage.

He is a chance of sliding on current form. Produces inconsistantly. Bit like Kieran Harper of last year.

But is a serious talent. If he slides that far would be a very good selection.

Harper's was due to OP and hip operations in his top age year.

I'm not sure Hayden is injured...

I dont know if you have already answered this question but are you going to be adding the priority picks that Port Gold Coast and Brisbane look like getting and if so who do you think they will take

Will do at some point later on closer to the draft.

Right now it's more about getting some names out there.

Lachie Neale has been playing very well for Glenlg seniors lately. Surely he would be moving up to mid to late draft selection. I would be stoked if Adelaide took him rd3-4

Chance.

Form has been solid. For Adelaide might be a reasonable fit late-rookie choice.

Reminds me a little of Mark Hutchings (rookied then gone the next year) and Kieran Butcher (not selected) from the last two drafts.

Doesn't mean Neale will have the same fate. But just similar in that he doesn't stand out, even though he is a solid mid.

Just so many great mids going around the league generally clubs look for those with more upside and players with greater weapons.

Haha, I don't know, ever since I noticed him, he always seems to catch my eye. He plays with passion, and that's what draws me to him.

Can you tell me if Mitchell Grigg is related to Shaun Grigg at Richmond Knightmare? If they are brothers/cousins could there be a chance he would want to come to Tigerland?

If he doesn't make an AFL list (no guarantee since other similar types have been overlooked previously) I could definitely see him having a very good SANFL career.

Could be related, but Shaun is from VIC, Mitch from SA which makes me think not.

Observation

Can someone confirm that there are 104 invitees to the draft combine this year. For some reason I thought it was 120.

Noticed the talls were on average 2-3 cm taller than the defenders.

What height do you rate a 1st tall defender.

Re: Observation

The woofer @ 75 for us would be awesome. His long low kicks are great. I love players with good footskills.

Vic Metro boy and looks good enough to go a bit higher than that.

Like his game. Doesn't have a left foot. But do see him as a nice fit for St.K with a late selection. Real worker. See him as a fair replacement for Steve Baker down back.

Doesn't look like a star. But without a doubt has strong role player potential, which is the type of thing you'd be looking for with a late selection.

Many of the defenders are probably undersized KPDs who probably could play smaller - Mihocek, Kelly, Raikiwasa are all around that 191cm range.

Talia and McInness would be the two leading KPDs in this draft. Both likely 1st rounders. Talia is around 193cm McInness 197cm. Both probably have another 2cm growth left in them.

Thanks for reply.

A little confused as the AFL tall forwards list a WA Perth Fraser McInnes at 194cm who did not play due to injury in the carnival. Wondering why you mentioned him as as a KPD. Wondering if i missed another McInnes.

Cheers

Can't guarantee which measurements are correct.

Have only watched McInness play down back but as a junior no doubt being one of the better KPPs will have played some forward. Don't take too much notice on classifications.

Re: Observation

Knightmare - with Port likely to lose one or both of Trengove and Carlile, who would you rate at the most likely KPDs to have an immediate impact and/or the best mature key defenders that could be selected at a reasonable spot? Because we have literally nothing coming through. Horrific management.

From the draft it will be difficult to make serious immediate progress.

McInness + Talia would be the two you'd be after in the 2nd round if one slides.

Trent Shinners from Bendigo might be worth a shot as a more immediate option as a rookie.
Kris Pendlebury has been very good for a couple of years as a slightly undersized KPD.
Also Sean Tighe, Kyle Hartigan and Tobias Thoolan would be other really nice mature age options who could also develop with your list which would be the attractive bit with those.

Also worth a look is David Gourdis if delisted. VFL form has been very good. Just needs a good coach with confidence in him. Not a great user of the footy, but shuts down his man, athletically can go with anyone and can add some rebound.

There are options. Not super attractive but likely as good as you can do. Just depends which avenue the club wants to take.

I see you have Brisbane taking a midfielder. I know it's probly by ranking but what are the chances that Brisbane take a pp player for there first pick at 8 like Michael Talia or Todd Elton. But would like McIness at brisbane

Elton will get consideration at 8. Not sure Talia + McInness will go quite so high.

Would still go mid at 8. Rate the potential mids at that selection higher than the potential KPPs. Would be looking at Grigg/Dyson/Buntine/Kavanagh at 8.

Grigg sounds like an interesting player, any chance that he'll slip due to his lack of pace Knightmare? Like the sound of Crozier too!
