How concerning is Clem Smith's disposal? Definitely the sort of player our recruiters get excited about.

Poor.

He's a heck of a talent with his linebreaking ability and hardness but his poor footskills are why he's not going top 10 on draft day.

Feel like you're overstating Smith's troubles. Poor skills that will cost him a possible top ten spot? Nah, not for me.

And Bampton is injured, so the SA side isn't as big bodied as you may think. We have a lot of shorter players through the middle, with Heaslip and Gore the only genuine bigs in the middle. Endurance and ball use is our strength this time around.

Sounds like a faster version of Clay Smith, and not just the similar name.

He's a good long kick. When he doesn't have to shape it or take anything of it he gets nice trajectory and can go some distance, but when running at a good pace and has a 25m kick to a leading player he just misses too many easy targets as he's always trying to kick it a little too hard and flat. One reason why i'm firm on Pickett as the better player at the moment.

Id put Lim in a similar boat. Does most things well, just doesn't have the consistency by foot and it irritates the hell out of me. It's why i rate Court higher than him, he's not going to get as much of the ball as often but he's going to be substantially more valuable with ball in hand.

Do you know much about Connor Blakely? Notice you don't have him in your mock draft. Been averaging 18 touches per game in the WAFL seniors.

Yet to see him play - as is the case with most of the non Victorians unless they're AIS boys or featured this time last year.

I hear he is not unlike Blake Acres from last year so I'm very eager to see what he can produce over the coming weeks.

Corey Ellis is left-footed and an inside midfielder...so the obvious question there is if he can last long enough to be picked by Hawthorn at the end of the first round? Assuming they don't trade it away of course...

Looks most likely a top 15 selection but it's plausible.

Number 22 for SA looks a serious prospect. Is that Burton? Reminds me of Hodge.

would Mark Kovacevic be worth looking at in the second round? I think Melbourne need to start developing a ruckman in Jamar's final years

Can't imagine he'll require a first rounder to select.

He wasn't included in the Metro squad. Maybe it was because there are too many other Cannons selected (10) or perhaps he's not rated as highly by everyone else as I seem to rate him.

He can probably be had as a rookie and as a rookie I like what he offers.

Jake Johansen captain of SA was 2nd best for SA yesterday. I reckon he surely would be in the top 60 now.

Next update my power rankings will look very different.

The largest of the jumps is Connor Blakely who has moved up into my top 20.

Jordan De Goey, Caleb Marchbank, Jason Castagna are among some others who have jumped up some.

Jake Johansen at 171cm 63kg hasn't convinced me yet. I'd like to see him play more forward and see how he goes as a crumber. That's about the only role I'd say height or lack there of doesn't matter.
Johansen is someone a bit like Cavarra last year who may be a chance again this year but as a small while productive at this level it's unclear despite his strong production that he's a sure thing to get drafted and have success at the next level.

Connor Blakely is a very good player either mid or back and should definitely be drafted also keeping an eye on Hardesty.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the best of both Winton & Walsh yesterday against S.A. as they were both injured (Corky’s) early 1st quarter, Winton didn’t return to the field however Walsh returned under constraint only to play forward, hopefully both will be right for the game against V.M. on Saturday as W.A. will need all their best players available to beat such a big powerful side.
