Kreuzer a CHF?

Just wondering lately wether Kreuzer (providing we get him) could maybe play as a key position forward instead of ruck? He looks like a big boy and its been said that he can play up forward, he's got good strength, pace, height and skills. is this a possibility? we need to bring a dominating CHF back into Carlton and i think Kreuzer could be the one, providing of course on what happens in the next few years in terms of Ruckman.

agree waite will cut loose in 2008 at chf

2008 is the year for waite to apsolutly shine. i think the defence can hold its own without him for a bit. as for kruezer id rather see him as a ruckman. put him at chf early on or maybe if we need waite down back

Should Kreuzer go forward, it will be to the goalsquare. IMO, he doesn't have the motor or the athletic ability to play up at CHF, especially in that roaming type, ala Riewoldt or Pavlich. When he has been around for a couple of years, i'd play him in the ruck for the majority of the game, and then give him a spell in the FP.

He could probably do it. But why have a solid CHF when you can have a champion ruckman.

14.12 is a reasonable score in the beep test and from memory his 20m sprint was fairly quick too. I didnt mean start his career in CHF, quite obviously Waite has the position locked in, but maybe in a few years, as he gets some experience under his belt and develops his core strength. im just spitballing here, i can just see him propspering more in CHF through the middle parts and end of his career

Don't expect too much from him in the first couple of years. They'll be when he develops with the Ants, and really works at becoming a very good ruckman in the AFL.

He will play at least 12 games in my opinion.

I agree. Very much like Leuenberger did this year with Brisbane. Reckon he'll play out of a FP next to Fevola.

I wouldn't think a CHF would be your priority as you've got a gun FWD in Fev and a possibe gun (wait, if he plays fwd) yet you would have probably the worst rucks in the comp. Unless one of those O'hailpins becomes alright, you won't be able to do any September damage with Ackland, Bryan, Mcalren etc.

You didn't mention Hampson, who looks as though he could prove to be a steal at 17 last year.

Agree that Cam Cloke should be number 1 ruck in '08. But Ackland starting ruck for Bullants reserves? You're giving him far too much credit. I'd send him over to the USA to play for one of those ex-pat teams so he can have no influence at Carlton. Seriously, who gave that dud a 3-year deal?

I was thinking that if Cloke was our starting ruck with either Aisake or Hampson backing him up each week that would leave Kreuze and one of Aisake or Hampson to ruck for the Bullants and Ackland could back up Jacobs in the Bullants reserves.

In 2008 we will be breeding quite a large number of ruckmen, hence Jacobs playing in the Bullants reserves, otherwise I doubt any Carlton listed player would be playing there, and if they were, I wouldn't give them much chance of putting on a navy blue guerensey anyway...
