This is an honest question - do you mean contested or congested ?

Well we made it congested (its the way we play...other teams seem to be able to beat it) and therefore made you get the contested football. We smashed you to peices in the packs, wasnt until you got your run that you even looked one bit dangerous.

See, I would agree that we struggle in a congested type of game, but to say we struggle in a contested situation is a fallacy perpetuated by people who rarely watch the Bulldogs.

That's not to say from time-to-time we don't get beaten around the packs, but it is not a regular issue - the stats prove that. Personally I don't agree we were 'smashed' in that area today, but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

Best of luck in the coming weeks (provided it's not against us).

just a wonderful team effort todahy from all concerned

Kudos to Stiffy who was having a dirty day with his ball use but in the last quarter he hit a number of contests very hard and got the ball going our way.

T Edwards you little ripper. Would love the man to get a B and F as he surely deserves it.

Van Berlo terrific as was Thommo

Bassett Massie Doughty and Shirley again terrific. The three later ones will all be on our list next year and rightly so.

Good win for you guys today. I think you have been killed by the umps two weeks in a row. IMO you have no hope of beating the Cats (if you get them) next week though. Hard game today for you guys and Geelong are absolutely motoring. Either way, the Crows are a good, honest team and I hope my team can get close (in the next few years) to where you guys are both on and off the ground.

Now that works better than ipecac ever could.

C'MON BOMBERS!!!

What an amazing round of results thus far this round.

The effort of most of our players was phenomenal today, even if the skills didn't match it.

Well done to Edwards who was the difference on the scoreboard, despite being defensively poor in the first half...but in a low scoring match his efforts were priceless.

Massie showed why he must be retained, especially given Bassett's departure. Perfect conditions for him.

Real solid efforts from van Berlo, Thompson, Shirley, Symes, Doughty.

Maric...inspirational last quarter. His efforts to feed out effective handballs in traffic/getting tackled are very, very good.

Tippett showed why he should have been selected...'only' 10 possessions, 3 marks, 10 or so hit-outs but his influence was far better than that. His clearance under pressure in defence down the Northern end was brilliant for a big man.

On the negative side, Porps is clearly limited and actually fumbled:eek::eek: but he still did some great work. Rutten's short kicks and handballs are worrying, but otherwise he was solid. Bock was less noticable but servicable. Douglas showed exactly where he is at in that memorable passage where he roved brilliantly, ran to space then inexplicably tried to snap it in wet conditions instead of the simple drop punt:confused: IF Edwards stays forward, Douglas may be in trouble selection wise. Vince clearly needed the run, hopefully his hammie ok. McLeod's first half was absolutely woeful, similar to the Port game, but his second half was much better. Same for Stiffy in first 3/4s compared to his improved last.

Anyway, gutsy game from a courageous team. Proud to be a Crows supporter.

agreed. some very worrying signs for the porp. hopefully it was just rust after a few weeks out. but did seem very reluctant to test out his right shoulder at times. the most glaring example was when he didnt want to go for an above-head mark that he'd usually swallow

Wouldnt read too much into it. He has come back from what, 3 weeks has it been?

He still looked dangerous at times. Notice whenever the pressure is on he is near it. He is an awesome player and will be an instrumental part of our team if we are to do anything in the next month

Anyone know how much the saints have to win by to catch us?

ps i understand that it is by percentage so it would depend on how many points essendon scores. therefore if essendon kick 10 8 68 what would the saints need to score?

you have just earned the right to get FLOGGED by the cats. i hope beat them though, because it gives the rest of us hope.
