Would it be such a bad move?

By the time our list is ready to challenge Lids will be retired. He's injury prone and he's only going to get worse.

Let's offload him for a first round pick or a quality young player that will be around when we're ready to challenge while he still has currency

I don't think that would be a good idea for Richmond. The club struggles to win without him and if we are going to do a mini-rebuild we need a guy like him leading the way.

Look at Murphy at the Bulldogs. Would they have been as good as they are now had they have traded him during their rebuild? I personally don't think so.

No. He's nearly 29 so he wouldn't net us much. Besides he's far too important. Since his injury troubles started in 2014 we are 25-12 with him and 3-9 without him.

We're a top 8 side when fit and he is a major reason why.

Let me see, so our win record without lids is something like 25% , so hey I've got a good idea , let's get rid of him,,:drunk:,what a completely ****en stupid idea ,,,there I said it

Did it hurt or hinder the Dogs when they traded Griffin who is a better player?

They would be better team if they still had him plus the first rounder they sent with him.

Thats subjective. They are better than the rabble they were after being bold and trading their best player.

If you want to be subjective, think what we could have got if we traded Deledio 2 years ago and whether we would have beaten a shit North side in the finals last year.

I am currently forming a posse to hunt you down.

Griffen was a toxic influence at the club that didn't want to be there. He was also their captain. Kidding yourself if you think he and Deledio are even in remotely comparable situations.

Comparable on the basis that he was their most skilled and tradable player and they made the hard decision to trade him. Unlike Richmond. Lids is our most skilled player. Whatever you think of him, we havent progressed to win finals with him in the team. Thats because we are crying out for our senior players to be leaders not just skilled footy players.

Should he be traded now? Of course not. Should he ave been traded 4-5 years ago. For sure.

Would you like to also talk about Cooney? Would Richmond ever dare to trade a Brownlow medalist if they ever had one?
