Free Agency Liam Stocker - signed by St Kilda

Players often get drafted one position to transition into a different spot based on their skillset. Stocker did a great job in his first season as a pure lockdown defender - had spot really good showings against decent opposition, showed a fair bit of grit.

His kicking also really developed over the season and I have no doubt he could make it as a main distributor if we had a need (Saad, Williams going down etc).

Very nice prospect.

The problem is, we don't know how good Stocker will be as a pure on-baller yet.
Cripps, Hewett, Kennedy, Stocker is a decent set up if Stocker becomes the player we hope/think he will.
Moves Cerra and Walsh out to the wings.

Reckon you'd be wasting Cerra/Walsh on the wing - it is more of a selfless position these days than for legit stars.

Yeah but the bloke you got after him Collier-Dawkins is bog ordinary.

Anyhow Stocker was a free hit eventually for us in an death riding trade with the Crows, so it's not skin off our teeth if he doesn't make the grade (which he will once gets over his injuries) or requests a trade.

13.5 touches, 3 marks, 1.5 tackles a game and 2 goals in the 7 matches he's played.
Played forward against the suns VFL team, but not sure where he has been playing otherwise

How is he short of opportunity? He had a syndesmosis injury in the pre season, returned via the 2s and soon as fitness was proven was straight back into the 1s. I’m sure he can play midfield minutes but there is a query over his tank.
