Another brilliant effort by Green, followed closely by Harwood. Green just keeps getting the pill and seems to prefer the hard stuff. Drummond will play seniors next week after a composed display- 100% TOG as far as I could see. McKeever tried hard and looks better each game although still some way from the finished AFL product. Buchanan energetic but still makes regular clangers. Retzlaff impressive. Might be worth a try although I am not totally convinced. Then again, how many senior games have we won?

X factor was very solid for a first effort- took one real hanger and showed no signs of leg problems. Spent very little time on the bench.

Cornelius played very well- his first time grab was back and he kicked very accurately.

I still Amon was good as the sub early in the season, He has a bit of agression, has a bigger body (for a small guy). I think the impact he can have coming on as a sub compared to a Polec is massive. Harwood wouldn't be far off i think, i would assume the coaches are probably letting him get some good solid form in the 2nds. They did say at the start of the year they were playing him in a few different positions, wing, HF, etc, as he was a bit 1 dimensional. I think this is a direct impact of the sub rule, where mids need to rest forward or a wing as we rotate, and i guess they wanted him to get some match experience in those roles before hitting seniors.

Green is sounding very exciting, and i can't wait to have both him and Banfield in the team at the same time. What is the general view with Green, would he be pushing for a senior game soon, or does he need a year at NEAFL level first ?

I seriously hope for your own sake that 'out of bounce' does not read this post.

I am yet to recover:D

Question for those who were there

Is X ready for senior football? I reckon a team like Gold Coast might be a good first senior game for him

Is moving well but he has missed a hell of a lot of football.

I'd give him 2 more reserves game then bring him in in round 9 alongside Browny.

IMHO, will have at least another 2 games with the reserves. Unless needs must, which might well be the case if we lose again this weekend.

Anyone coming down the Coast this weekend??

I could learn how to use bigfooty on my phone to update if peoples want me to?

I can't make it but updates would be greatly appreciated. Twitter would probably be easier. TBD offers free coaching.

More photographicalness here.

Has SOKS been doing anything to suggest that he deserves a recall?

Not really. To my eye, he is solid trier who puts his head over the ball, no question, but lacks some of the body size or, in lieu, the skills necessary to take the next step.

There are quite a few others now in the queue ahead of him now, unfortunately. Austin probably has superior claims, although even he is now behind Drummond, Green, Harwood, and shortly Clarke. At least IMHO.

This is not necessarily a bad thing- pressure from below is always good.

Very frustrating that someone with such a reputation upon arrival (given the number 3 etc.) has managed to plateau so much.

SOKs didn't really come with a reputation. He was a late draft pick as a bottom-ager and was pretty speculative .

He also wasn't given the number 3 as part of any 'anointing', it was more a respect for his attitude. He got it because he was brave enough to ask for it...
