Letting Blight go is a Massive Mistake by the Club in my Mind

Except he is massively home sick, showed nothing this year, knocked back the gold coast and only wants to play in WA. I agree huge mistake on his half not wanting to play for the premier
Are you sure we have 4 picks in the draft. At the moment, I calculate 3.
IN (6): Blair, Keeffe, Young, Tarrant, Ceglar, Krakouer
OUT(9): Fraser, Corrie, Blight, Cook, Barham, Lockyer, O'Bree, Medhurst, Rusling.
Who is also out that I am missing that give us 4 picks? Unless did the AFL increase the team list by 1?![]()

Not sure about the 4 picks business.
Perhaps it is Tom Young for pick 77 because he wasn't on our list this year. (Not rookie or senior list)
He was a NSW scholarship holder who got permission to play with our VFL team.
Rookie elevations get called out now on draft day. Lachie Keefe & Blair will be picks 93 & 110 or some nothing pick but are locked in.
If Presti retires or JA bails we use pick 77 on a newbie and get Young with pick 127 or some other nothing pick.
My gut says Presti will retire but is waiting for MM to come back from Ireland to be there to honour a great servant of the club.
I too was surprised when i heard we were looking to cut Blight. But how many times, since MM has been coach, has a player that's been cut by the club gone on to play good football somewhere else? The only one i can think of is Jason Roe though there may be others. MM is a very good judge of a footballer once they're in our system so I trust his judgement.
Also I believe the reason there was no interest in Blight during trade week is that any prospective club to pick him up would more than likely rookie list him. So they didn't want to waste a senior list spot by doing a late pick trade like we did with the Lions for Corrie.
Nah, he was a VFL top up player for about 4 weeks, but then went home to Alice Springs for family reasons, and was then picked up with the no.1 pick in the rookie draft by Melbourne.Wasn't Liam Jurrah let go from us too?
Blair got elevated halfway through the season so maybe he doesn't count? That would make 5 ins and 4 spots to fill.
Nah he was in essence an additional player when he got elevated this year. We need to find a list spot for him.
I think i'll go through and figure out how many picks we have tomorrow if I can be buggered after work.
I'm still shocked by Medhurst's decision to retire.
I still don't get it. Why? Lost motivation?

I think Presti will retire. The herald sun did an article on every teams updated lists and Presti wasn't on our veterans list (leon and bj were). Here's the link: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/afl-clubs-updated-player-lists/story-e6frf9jf-1225945367592
