Like discarding Milera with Ryan and Edwards up our sleeve...oh wait..The move ons are as important as the keeps
Eg Doedee out with Worrell up the sleeve was perfect.
Will need to discard some other decent players to keep all the ones we really want + target recruits at various stages
Yeah, I certainly felt uneasy seeing that. Would seem the perfect option to transition a more expensive player out for a cheaper one (perhaps) capable of performing similarly.Like discarding Milera with Ryan and Edwards up our sleeve...oh wait..
I'm not much of a fan of Draper but he was starting to look more dangerous forward this year. If you ignore the around the corner set shots. With Tex gone we might. Less rucking for TT too.

You think he's ready to lead the ruck at AFL level in 2026?What about that Vigo Visentini kid for Essendon, getting some big numbers in the VFL and can dangle the 'same state as your brother' carrot.
I don't know much about him thus just throwing his name out there, I'll leave that to the new kid expertsYou think he's ready to lead the ruck at AFL level in 2026?
Would be great to pick him up as a development ruck but we don't seem interested in going down that path unfortunately.
North Rd 24 at home? Will we have a look at McAndrew in a game at some point?
Its at MarvelNorth Rd 24 at home?
even more reason to then. keep that big lug off a planeIts at Marvel
Good !Twomey reporting Brisbane now in the Sam Draper hunt big time with McInerney having ongoing back issues and 31 next, Darcy Fort 32 next year and Henry Smith now also having ongoing back and foot issues apparently.
Maxxy Ramsden? For what its worth, i've never been more the lupe warm on the Draper interest. Feels like a high priced side-step to me. Like Brodie Grundy but worse. As in still expensive, and with depreciating returns, but never anywhere near as good as peak Grundy was to warrant the salary.
Feel like surely there is an cheaper and higher ceiling option that's bubbling under the AFL surface. And i'd prefer to take a shot at the next Lloyd Meek, over the next post Collingwood Brodie Grundy.
If he's the next Meek then I'm in. I'm pretty sure you were an early Meek admirer, so i'll happily revert to your opinion on this.
What would you pay TDK though ? Given what his contract offers are I wouldn’t take him at allI'd certainly take TDK if there was any chance at all of him playing for Adelaide, which there isn't. Draper would I guess be a replacement for ROB if ROB leaves, but yeah I'd rather keep what we have. ROB's endurance means Thilthorpe rarely has to ruck which is great, and he's perfectly adequate most weeks.
Pure asinine madness to pay a ruckman $1.7 million a season, anymore than a $1mill a season for a ruckman is pure folly no matter how good they are.....especially a long term contract. What would you pay TDK though ? Given what his contract offers are I wouldn’t take him at all
The thing we need to remember with ROB, is his durability. He very rarely misses a game and I cannot remember him ever having any sort of serious injury? We have based our list strategy for rucks on this too and not had to worry about having multiple back up options.I feel like because ROB is shit, people think we're moving on someone on peanuts for someone on an overinflated contract.
ROB is a club champion, a leader, has a huge workload as first ruck that would be considered when they drew up his contract. ROB would not be on small money.
There might not be a huge difference in these two contracts.
Draper as a player does not excite me though.
While I'm not excited by Draper, I doubt ROB is on a cheap deal himself.
Not the most athletic of rucks, more Mumford style i.e. contested, brute strength etc if we're talking pure rucks which is what he is essentially. What's Nick madden like from the Giants? He's getting good numbers in the VFL.
