If it was Port's idea to put this story out to one up us then they clearly didn't think of the collateral damage in would inflict on NWM.

Wow Caro really has lost it.

Imagine being immediately publicly discredited that your source is wrong. Instead of saying ‘maybe I should check my source’, doubles down that a player manager wouldn’t know where their player wants to go.

There are literally two people that would know what NWM was thinking re trade. NWM and the player manager. So unless Caro’s source is NWM then she should probably take a step back.

But seriously before running with this story Caro should have made a call to the manager and if they advised it’s untrue, not run with it. I doubt Caro even made the call thus is the standard of journalism these days.

She could have worded the original report of "I believe if he does move to SA he wants to play for Port", but she's gone for the sensationalist headline, then doubled down and hit Ben Williams, she's just motivating people to prove her wrong, rather than just letting it slide.

Worth it IMO. He would single-handedly put us in a new bracket of good. Imagine him lacing out our forward line.
