Been looking at Fantasy players for 2026 and going through lists. Now Fantasy rankings are not the be all and end all we know as your best defender often doesnt rack up big scores, so this isnt a Fantasy ranking. Its which 10 players are most important to your team.

What I did find interesting is how the quickly quality falls away from guns to good role players. And obviously how some teams bat deep. The difference between estabkished and rebuilding lists.

And age, that also tells interesting stories.

So who do you rate at the top 10 most important players for your team entering 2026?

Pearce only on 30 and over
I feel Bcox will take over chieftain of defence
Half are 25 and under that lack of experience in recent past has hurt us
But moving forward there is no excuses
Our fwd talls being 23 and under could be a worry but feel Treacy is a mature head and Bolton will really settle in to his roll after a poor 2025

Only miers (and everyone passed on him after his tac cup GF until we took him at 57) and stewart as a mature age player from vfl to our afl team. Atkins had to go undrafted and play 4 years in our vfl side before we rookied him.
Other than that all the rest are not locals. Not remotely the same as brisbane and gc getting top 10 academy players on the cheap.
Yes we got Jesse mellor as an academy this year but again everyone passed him and after 40 we couldn't have matched so clearly no one wanted him.

I could definitely be wrong but that’s just who I think will go up another level for us if injuries don’t take over. Now Trac and Oliver are gone someone needs to step up! Plus our list isn’t the best so it’s not hard haha
