We honestly did alright with that Sydney trade allows us to have a better attack later and possibly a better 3rd round pick of next year

Busy with family, but watching it in the background. Our recruiters weren’t expecting the Coleman bid.

We could have packaged our two later second round picks for that North Melbourne pick 27.

We’re obviously got a kid in mind.

Well f*** you Richmond, double dipping.

Unfortunately you probably give our recruiters 5/10 tonight.

Gave up a fair amount for Robertson who must have question marks. Smith looks pretty average. Coleman we could have got last year as a rookie. Missed out on 2 academy players. Trading on the night was very poor.

With Coleman a lot of clubs could of picked up Tim Kelly.. If he went a year or so before who knows if he have the same work rate.
Maybe missing out last year was the extra year he needed or the kick in the bum he needed..
Robertson trade was weird what we gave up although future will be what it is.

Can't disagree with any of that.

The Port trade was just head scratching. Really look forward to hearing the reasoning tomorrow night.

Gotta laugh at this one.

Clutching at straws a bit - come on, if you're going to talk down our draftees surely there's something more concrete than "must have questions marks" or "looks pretty average". Quite willing to listen to more constructive criticisms for that, but it sounds just like you're speculating on the former and watched some highlights and not much more for the latter.

It's not like we actually missed out on two academy players as it was pretty clear Martyn was never in our considerations, and Cumberland had only been flagged as a secondary option that we might get. Drafting players just because they were in our academy means we'll clog our list with players not up to it and/or have an unbalanced list.

I predict it'll be a case of "we rated him in the top 10, so getting him for a pair of second round picks was a bargain."

Arguing whether our rating is correct is valid, but the trade would follow from that rating so it's hard to argue about the trade.

Edit: FWIW I tend to distrust anyone who thinks their draft evaluation is significantly better than every other team, so if that is the explanation there's a fair chance we are wrong. :D
