I'm just going to say it, "I love draft day".

The build up, the picks, the excitement and sliders and the risers.

I have no idea who we will pick and how we will handle having 3 late picks compared to the last few years.

Will Neeld DEEmand (sorry but I'm very excited) some readymade players or mature blokes or does the MFC have a young gem in mind?

Will we go for best available or will be try to fill the needs of crumber, inside mid and rebounding defender? If we end up with a tall KPD or a winger does that mean that the club has a few positional changes in mind?

Outside the MFC it will be interesting to see what players with previous AFL experience get a second chance. Fev being the big one but there are plenty more hoping for a fresh start.

Maric and Wonna will be interesting for sentimental reasons. The thing I'm most interested in, though, is how GWS is going to find 40-odd players who don't drink at all in order to avoid pissing $cully off on future post-season trips. Does anyone know if Coniglio or Patton like a bevvy or two?

I saw a photo of Patton in the paper yesterday. I reckon that boy loves a Brewsky or 2 every now and then.

Wonna is really interesting. If someone picks him up in the national draft I'll assume he was playing us( ;) ) despite the MFC giving him a Mid year Annual leave. He probably even got the leave loading pently of 17.5%

And how did you come to that conclusion exactly?

I really hope Wonna gets another go somewhere, although i doubt he will. To suggest he was playing us is fairly rough imo.

Well i was having a joke, obviously not funny as it was unclear. So if I had to remove the humour I'd say it was fishy that Aussie didn't turn up for pre season but notminated for the draft a week later.

Never fear, I'll insert a winky face or something as the entire tone of my post has come off as deadly serious

Wasn't an unreasonable assertion in my opinion - no winky face needed WiseGuy.

Doubt he deliberately played us but going off the radar at contract time, then declaring you're still keen after being delisted is bloody weird.. especially given the support we've offered him in recent times.

Jason Phelan: Viney is an absolute beast, Dustin. Top 10 in this draft for mine and he's still got a year of development!

Sorry Eth but who is Jason and why is he telling GrrrDusty that Viney is a beast?

;)

...

Sorry.

Great news though. I love the kid already and I've only seen him play 3 odd games

Coniglio had the same look as Scully did, and Patton is saying the same things as he did too. Family looks equally as crushed

A medium forward is a suprise.

I'm sure MFC know what they are doing. Welcome to the club

EDIT: Club Twitter says he plays Fwd, mid or back.
