I don't cheer either Phillippousis or Hewitt. This wimbledon, I will be going for Marat Safin and Sharapova (oh yeah). Might not win, but doesn't chuck a sook whenever he or she loses. Also isn't racist.

I like Safin, but you've obviously seen f***-all of his career to make such a comment.

Love tennis and Hewitt, but seeing the socceroos win the World Cup would have to outrank even Hewitt winning Wimbeldon. Absolutely love Hewitt, has made plenty of mistakes but love his intensity, determination and his inability to ever give up, no matter what the situation. I don't buy into this rating sportsmen as role models, they're paid highly because they're good at their chosen sport and that's how I regard them. I'd rather see as role models, people more deserved of such status.
Hewitt should be acknowledged for the warrior he is, on-court. Is under-estimated what it required for a bloke of his stature, possessing (to be completely honest) a limited game, yet became the best in the world at what he does, through sheer determination and fight. Completely wore down opponents and would retreive as many balls as required to win just a single point. Have no doubt that he will make it back to the top of the tree.
Great to see (though not surprising) that the age-old 'tall poppy' syndrome is still alive and well.
