Sirens everywhere in East London responding to another terrorist attack involving a van plowing into pedestrians on London's iconic London Bridge.

There have also been stabbings and shootings just south of the bridge at the heavily tourist based Borough Markets.

Hoping there are minimal casualties. These sorts of attacks will be so hard to stop and predict, there is a real fear in London now.

Reporting on 7 that people are saying that those run down have then been stabbed (throats cut) - hoping that this is wrong.

London must be constantly on edge these days with these ongoing attacks

There is now a third incident being reported in Vauxhall. Scary stuff

It's ok. We'll get a new hashtag trending, get people changing their Facebook profile pictures, and everyone will continue on as normal. And nothing will change.

The new normal in Europe I'm afraid.

What are suggesting? People should run out and burn their nearest Muslim neighbour's house instead?

What more can be done do you think? Billions of dollars are poured into intelligence, and the military, whether that money is well spent is perhaps something we can look at, but if you're talking about placing restrictions on any one group of people, there's some fairly difficult questions involving individual freedoms that need to answered before I would be comfortable with it.

No. But it would be nice if the media started asking some hard questions instead of just telling everyone to continue on like nothing has happened.

I don't have the answers. Those are for people far more intelligent and powerful than me to come up with.

There seems to be a common denominator all across Europe when it comes to these attacks though, and more needs to be done. This is happening on a weekly basis now.

A good point to start might be to point out that the Sunni Muslims are far more of an issue in Western Society than the Shi'a.

People often say "oh more Muslims are killed by Muslims etc" when in reality it's quite often Sunnis killing Shi'a or vice versa.

ISIS is Sunni, Al-Queda was Sunni.

The biggest threat comes from the Sunni.

I suppose the question again has to be asked - is the Muslim community doing enough. There would be murmurings and whispers prior to these types of attacks - are they reporting them to authorities and are the authorities taking them seriously - even with the Manchester attacks, the bomber was in a watchlist and people had reported his concerning behaviour. Again though being "home grown", what can you do. It's not as though they can be deported or watched 24/7. There just aren't the resources

Not much you can do when its mostly now 18-20 yo kids doing this shit. The big scale organised stuff has seemigly been slowed but its now the hangers on or easily influenced people (students) just hiring a truck and driving it into a crowd. No level of surveillance can stop that stuff.

Becoming such a regular occurrence now, waking up and turning on the tv to find out there has been another terrorist attack overseas.

Glad I'm not living in London these days, when I was living there the only risk was from an old fashioned IRA bombing.

These guys really don't like Ariana Grande

I wouldn't be letting her into the UK if I was them, she's a bloody jinx.

The American government doesn't agree with you...

A good ol' $350 billion of weapons to the Saudis over the next decade (because the Saudis have never caused any problems in the world, ever, nudge nudge wink wink) and increased hostility towards the Iranians regardless of whoever is elected there (possible war and invasion to come) shows you what they think of this "war on terror" thing.

Remember folks, the Yanks consider Iran to be the largest state sponsor of terrorism. The Saudis? Very good allies, the best allies perhaps...

You have to wonder how much people are going to take before it starts getting to that. Theres only so much people are going to take.

It will be interesting to see what emerges here, but I've noticed a trend towards recent terrorists being home grown reformed petty crims, who've enjoyed the party lifestyle in a distinctly unIslamic manner before converting, then becoming radicalised, and co-opting the religion as an excuse for their deeds. Certainly the faith played it's part in the actions, but, and I say this carefully because it can be interpreted a number of ways, but these aren't your typical Muslims, they were criminals before they converted. Perhaps the better question to ask is why are these people in particular attracted to the Muslim faith?
