After Franklin's dog act. It was great to see Ivan Maric get in there and stick up for his team mates, taking it to the Hawks. Good on ya big Iv!

Agree 100% :thumbsu:

Something Adelaide's been lacking in my opinion.

Absolutely loved it :)

Would've started my own thread, but didn't have my laptop on me.

Was great to see, he came steaming over and was ready to take everyone on - but smart enough to throw his weight around without giving the free away.

He looks like he's having a bloody good game - his aggression at the contest and his desperation is great to see.

I'm having serious trouble choosing my new favourite player since Roo left, and now Maric is also on the 'possible favourites' list.

Always like some agression in the big blokes.

Both Kurt and Ivan love to get in and throw their weight around. Great to see.

It gave me slight wood in the pants.

I was about 1 inch from the TV spouting abuse at Franklin and when Maric flew the flag it got me excited ;)

As someone said don't give away frees but fly the bloody flag hard.

I love you E varn

For most clubs "flying the flag" is a given. The reaction in this thread shows just how much we have been missing this sort of support for our players. Well done Iv. Pity a few of your more senior teammates didn't learn from your example.

This guy showed tonight why he was billed as our #1 ruck at the start of the year. How good was that contested mark no the wing, then spots up a 50m pass to Thommo I think it was? Does way way more than Griff around the ground at this stage. Griff still drops marks... doesn't provide enough presence around the ground for a guy of his size. Their ruckwork are on par.

Definately our number 1 ruck.

Be excellent to see the big fella become our enforcer aswell.

Ivan is the man! he has great for us for the past few games. He is really competitive and never give up. I am a bit disappointed that he was the only one flying the flag, we need to play "unsocialable football", be aggressive, put the fear into our opponents, missing that killer instinct which every premiership team possesses.

Gotta love him, puts in 110% every contest he's involved in, loves to throw his weight around a bit and thats what you love to see in ruckman. He has definitely stepped up since the start of the season and taken his game to another level. Was much more comfortable with him in the ruck than Griffin, no doubt.

Someone else was helping Maric in the scuffle, but it might've been little Dougie, so you'd hardly notice.

Maric has overtaken Griff, but Griff has been awesome, he just looks a bit flat - and Maric has shown how important it is for a ruckman to have a bit of bulk.

Good work there by Ivan.

Contrast that to the lack of action against Will Minson after he took out Van Berlo off-the-ball during our Round 1 clash with the W Bulldogs:thumbsd:

Maric is more of a "normal" ruckman in that he's not an athletic specimen like the other two, yet he's got this touch of flair and confidence that sees him produce some quality plays. See: goal against West Coast, hanger against the Saints (I think) last year. He rounds the trio out nicely imo. :thumbsu:

Great stuff to fly the flag as well.

It was fantastic to see him go flying in to let Franklin know he wasn't going to let that shit fly. And even when he got pulled off he ran back in again.

What could be scarier than a 200cm Croatian going off at you?

A couple of thousand of them after they got knocked out of the World Cup!!:D

He's so much more athletic than people think. He is great in traffic. Love seeing him dodge a player and break a tackle to get a handpass away. His mark and 50m pass last week in the 4th quarter (i think) was great. Robert Walls creamed himself over it.
