Yes they have. They haven’t painted it on the ground so they avoid the criticisim, but the mark now stands way further back, and the player kicking out doesn’t even have to kick to himself. He can run straight out and gain the extra 10m. The goalsquare now means literally nothing for kick ins. It’s only use is when you mark in there and get lined up straight in front.
Don't mean to be rude, but they haven't really changed it at all. They have simply created a greater exclusion zone for the opposition, much like the protected area around the ground when players mark the footy. And the player kicking out is in no rush to do so until his foot leaves the square. He is still protected by the exact same rules as before, the only difference now being he doesn't need to kick to himself and he gets an extra few steps of space to play on into once he leaves it.
