Lol at my earlier post, I have to say I changed my tune on him, but to be fair that was largely based on his Grand Final efforts which I think were really good, that and the fact that our midfield was really shown up in the finals as being pretty poor in close without Pendles. Mind you, we did go after a ruckman as our first priority, I didn't expect back then we'd get such a quality player as Jolly, though.

Back in August I'm fairly certain Ball was playing in the VFL as well, amazing how much people's perceptions of a player can change in a couple of months.

Now let's never speak of this thread again. ;)

So it costs us Shannon Cox (just a suggestion) and this years Dayne Beams (last years late second round pick).

I'd take Drum instead, will only cost a 3rd round draft pick, has no injury worries like Ball, and he has the upside of being a Fremantle reject, and plenty of them have improved at other clubs, including ours.

Steele Sidebottom will be a better player then Luke Ball from next year on, if he isnt already, why waste a draft pick and a player on an injury prone mid who only plays well in the wet.

But all of this is besides the point, WE NEED KEY POSITION PLAYERS AND A RUCKMAN.

haha jumpin on the banwagon ay, personally i think before u all get excited i reckon ball is going to be trash, he is a mess he will never recover 100% so i wouldnt be too keen on him, wat u needed was a forward instead of him, jolly was a good pich up though.

I just cant work out why u cant win a flag even though u have everything in ur favour especially your fixture, try travelling every second week like we do and i guarantee u will be in the bottom 4. Before u start abusing just remember collingwood have nothing on the eagles we have won THREE thats right 3 premierships since your last one, and will win the fourth before collingwood get 1 MARK MY WORDS

Exactly Vixen, but despite the poor grammer, I think someone is bitter a certain Neon Leon got AA selection ahead of his beloved Frenchman, LeCras. Plus someone clearly doesn't watch enough footy, because intelligent fans know how good the Pies travelling record is.

Travelling every week interstate - for our win/loss we should be so lucky!

It's been a while since WCE has beaten a Melbourne-based team in Melbourne in the finals. 1999 against the Western Bulldogs in fact.

Collingwood has beaten Adelaide, Port and WCE in interstate finals since 2000.

The Magpies don't need to learn how to win interstate...they need to learn how to win local derbies. Just like West Coast!
