How good has he been for us thus far?
He is in my top 3 favourite players at the club, behind Swan and Daisy, and that's purely because I admire the way he goes about his footy.

He has quickly adjusted to our midfield structures and is now close the dominant pure in and under midfielder in the comp.

I know we have all acknowledged how good he has been but I still think we are under-rating him a bit, I think he would be pretty high up in our B&F so far this season.

He may even go pretty close to AA, maybe not the final 22 but at this stage I definitely think he would at least be put in the 40 man squad.

Well done Luke and keep it up.

Well going by MMM he won't.They didn't even have one Pies player in their 28  And apparently yesterday Mark Stevens said the Pies and Fremantle will drop out of the four, he thinks the top four will be Geelong,Western Bulldogs,St Kilda and Carlton  If it wasn't for Ed I wouldn't listen to MMM at all.

He been good doing the Grunt Work with Tackles and Getting the Hard Ball but as well expected his Kicking is not Great

He's been exactly what we wanted him to be, our number 1 "extractor".

No matter what the stats say, he does his job week in, week out.

You can tell Malthouse and the coaching staff are wrapt with his performances so far.

Will be a big factor today too, with Boyd and Cooney needing to be stopped from getting first hands on the ball.

Nowhere near AA, not even the squad, but that isn't a slight on him at all. He has been brilliant for us this year.

*nowhere near might be a little bit harsh, but he'd be well back in the pack.

Has been sensational, cant fault any part of his game and after another fine performance today it is probably worth giving him and Jolly a week off next week to freshen up for the 2nd half of the year

Not really, after next week we have the split round anyway.

They are both experienced players, they really shouldn't really need a rest.

The only player for us that got a free kick. Which must have been ten. The umpires love him as much as we do. Although he puts his head over the ball and deserves therm all. He was fantastic for us tonight. :thumbsu:

Has been sensational.

Everything we ever wanted and more from a pure extractor or inside mid.

Also, his desperation at the clinches and the way he uses his body as a battering ram/weapon for the team is unbelievable.

A very important player to our structure.

His kicking is not as bad as you seem to make out either, and in this post, you said that he hit only one target against Brisbane which was not true at all. In the previous two weeks against Geelong and Brisbane, he had 54 possessions (27 in each match) at about 68% efficiency which is quite good, but he did have 13 clangers total in those two matches.

In this post though, I said that I felt that was because of the lack of protection and intensity from teammates, which forced Ball to kick quickly to avoid being tackled. This week though, his teammates were much better in that regard, and that was reflected in Ball having 29 possessions and only 3 clangers, which is not too bad at all for a player in his role that is always going to be under pressure from the opposition.
