I agree. We should absolutely question the way our club is heading and the way it's being run, but to throw the baby out with the bath water over and over again, achieves nothing.

Do we really have to have a crisis and an uproar to spark the club into action? I would hope we're far more professional and have moved well beyond that 60s/70s/80s/90s era.

Make the necessary changes, but let's hope we're smart.

Any talk of moving on Bevo is beyond a joke. Seriously dumb.
It depends on your definition of crisis. Some would say we are in somewhat of a crisis.
Also I think many are pointing out that we have already not been very smart, and are worried we are going to continue on that track.

A flag doesn’t give him immunity. If you accept the good that comes with winning a flag, then you have to be able to deal with the bad. We have become too predictable with our handball game that worked a treat in 15/16. The coach hasn’t adapted to the current environment and from the outside it seems like the players are not buying in to the current game plan.
just read in the Catalonian daily that Zidane is likely to be our next coach.

1) It was in jest
2) I was pointing out the thread was ridiculous
3) I did not quote you. Merely pointing out that you used to post a lot of negative stuff (along with Tony et al).
4) Did not state anything about your opinion. This is your chance to state it rather than be overtly aggressive for no reason at all.

ok then i will tell you what i believe and say sorry if i was overly aggressive.

Im cool with bevo- im not cool with about 15 premiership players who are still living and reliving october 4th 2016.

This game is in the mind. As international ball codes go this game demands an INCREDIBLY low skill level to play at the highest level compared to other codes. HOWEVER, no other ball game played anywhere in the world demands mentally the same comittment to take physical punishment, whether it be a hit from an opponent or the will to run through mental barriers and push the body as players gut run. No sport I know of demands so much for so long from the individual.

I havent posted much this year because simply put if they dont give a rats arse why should I? We need to trade out at least 5-8 so called premiership players.

I agree with a bit of what you say. A guy like Clay Smith was the difference across the finals. They could see it was their chance once we hit form and just took the opportunity. That's a much different ball game to playing 22 games at that level mentally. Not sure on 5-8 though.

Lack of indigenous talent? You didn’t just say that did u?

How the hell does talent of any race help success?

Wow just wow I’m not even going to continue with that comment.

It might not have come out as I meant it. I think over the years we have had very little luck or perhaps its our lack of development of indigenous talent. I look at other clubs and whether it is the talent spotting or whether it is the development of these lads when taken out from home states I don't know.
I can't think of a club that has been worse at developing indigenous players than us, that we don't have one indigenous player that I know of that is on our list is pretty poor.
I am not saying this is all Bevo's fault but generally Indigenous players play with a lot more flair and attacking instinct. We have no flair and no attacking instinct. We could have got Liam Ryan last year and we decided not to draft him. Maybe an area where we could improve is have a good development model for indigenous players.
We had a period where we recruited quite a few indig. lads, none really worked out. Josh Hill was probably the best over a period of time. But I stand to be corrected.

Let’s start conservative for 2019:

1. Spend Big on a Forward coach, a big name, a mentor.
2. Spend a fair bit on a goal kicking coach (Rocca etc).
3. Get an Assistant from outside the club who has AFL coaching experience.

Matthew Knights or Justin Leppitsch is a a good start

I love Beveridge, I drink his kool aid but I can't fault some of the commentary in the media at the moment. Some of our players really do look like they have issues with him.

Likely would have had Ben Long on the list if saints hadnt snuck in early

I'm of the mind that the predicament the club currently finds itself in onfield is the shared responsibility of the Coaching staff (of who Bevo is clearly the leader), the Players (of who Wood is the leader), the Match Committee, and the former list management team.

Now clearly the errors that have led to our current situation are not evenly shared across this group, but I'm totally unwilling to absolve all others of responsibility at Bevo's expense. It's madness to give any of these other participants a free pass, they've all had a hand in where we are at.

I think the question that needs to be asked is how he f**k did Beveridge squeeze a Premiership out of our list in 2016?

We climbed Everest in a pair of sneakers and now find ourselves struggling to walk up Kosciusko in the said pair of Dunlop’s.

We are re-building and should consider ourselves lucky to have been alive in 2016.

In someways agree with you but it should be viewed totally seperately

2016 glory is not tainted by what has happened since. Premierships are not handicap contests, weight for age in horse racing cox plates not Melbourne Cups or Olympics not Stawell gifts we beat the best available without any help.

Then we look at 2017/18 and say we have not met expectations why. I am backing Luke in but maybe a full review is required without egos getting the way.

I am here Chicago. How about them Cubs.
I've been in hospital since last Wed. so haven't paid too much attention. I did see we beat those nasty Mets on Sunday.

Self Explanatory

Both won ONE PREMIERSHIP

Both seem unable to win Any More

Piss Off and get out of the way
Agree completely.

We're not winning anymore flags under him, and I fear we're now stuck with him. The entire board is convinced he's the right man for the job.

2016 was the perfect storm, the right players at the right time with the right form and the right ruleset. Things change a lot in 5 years, and this dumb coach refuses to get with the times.

There is no doubt in my mind Beveridge would've fought against recruiting Stefan Martin. As far as he is concerned, there is no room for strong, aggressive, maybe a bit slow ruckmen in his team.
