Make or break for Walker

It's players like Walker who will determine our 2009. Judd, Fevola, Stevens, Murphy, Gibbs and co. are now solid performers, and can be relied upon. It's middle tier blokes like AW who push us that little bit further.

If Walks can stay on the park for around 20 games in 09 and not have major injuries, then our chances of making top 8 are dramatically improved. Ditto with Cloke, Simpson, Thornton, Fisher and co.

I agree on Walks on the wing pushing forward - he can use his hight and pace in that role. It would also allow Fisher to stay closer to goal.

Show em' what you're made of AW :thumbsu:

Bryce Gibbs anyone?
If Gibbs continues on the rate he is going, it'll be Cornes who will be tagging him next year ;)

As for Walks, I reckon he will be our CHF for at least half a dozen games this year depending on match ups or can be used in the middle to give us an extra dimension. Is certainly hard at it with brilliant pace, could on the end of some handpasses from Judd and co.

Here is a big comment....

But a fit Andrew Walker could be just as important as Juddy & Fev & Kreuzer...

Just think about a fully fit Andrew Walker and what he could do & where we could play him (ALMOST ANYWHERE besides the ruck) No one else on our list could...

Im willing to lay those cards on the line... Provided he is fully fit though :thumbsu:

WHOA Calm down with that aggressive red writing!!!

I love you, Mr Walker (in a _____ way). :thumbsu:

Sorry, but it had to be said.

Here here! :thumbsu::D

Can't wait to see him back on the field in 2009!

No matter where he plays, he always gives 110% and that's what I like!

The article sums up everything we thought of Walker. We know his potential is great yet it's time he showcases his talent. IMO he should be used primarily on the wing providing speed but should be used at times in the half forward line. He can be quite dangerous there as we saw in the Port game.

Love your work with Walks on the wing. He has the speed to get clear and also can easily contest in the air.

Not sure if he has had a real opportunity with injuries though. Hope he has a great pre - season and starts even with Cooney.

Could be scary! (in a good way)

Why stop there?

Cooney, in his early purple patch, found himself at a centre bounce against Big Cox and nonchalantly proceeded to win the tap out to advantage. Tex has more hops and X factor than Cooney, give him a run in the ruck, let the boy stretch his wings out a bit, then we'll see him fly ;):thumbsu:

And if he doesn't come back I guess he was never ours in the first place............sniff :(

He's actually our only top draft pick that no other club claims rights to in some way or other, he'll come back ;)

Holy crap Batman,

Tex hasn't had a great run with injuries. Not sure if we should throw him in the ruck and F^*k him up completely.

He might end up like a Kiwi, Flightless and gone from this world.

Don't kill the little fella off too soon. BY will tell you that you may be thinking of the Moa.

Thanks for that! Maybe got a little too excited about flightless birds.

By the way, is that Paul Salmon?

Possibly. He certainly towers over the bloke in the hat.

Whoops,

Apologies B, Was a bit slow on the uptake and missed the earlier post.

Three steps back!

Best intentions meant, but the sarcasm was gold!
