so Cameron can find someone else to blame?
I think everyone bar the Giants admin know Cameron is going nowhere fast, but Congilio as captain just looks like a mistake on the available footage.

There's no strength or conviction behind his words. He’s saying the things he knows he has to say, but it sounds insincere and hollow.

Would be a massive turnaround for him to become a good captain based on the insight this doco series is giving.

an underperforming Captain is a direct reflection on those who put him in that position.
Ive never seen someone so poorly prepared to be Captain ... he couldn’t Captain a local footy side.

Binged it over the past two days.

Didn't think it was near as good as 'The Test', which probably placed unreasonable expectations on this series.

Would've liked them to be engaged with a few more players of each team, and really explore their journey through the season.

A few more brief thoughts:
- If there is a series two it should have 3-4 teams down the bottom and last years premier, think its great to see how young teams rebuild;
- How good are Eddie Betts ands Rory Sloane, just good blokes. Dew and Nicksy look the right men for the job;
- 5 teams might have been a bit too many. Found some clubs got a bit stale at times.

Also found it ironic how Dimma claimed how hard the hub life was on families, yet was dismantling his in the process.

He was dismantling??? So you know how his marriage broke down?

Sort of feel for Rory Sloane. All round ripping fella, was a top 10 midfielder for a couple of years. Deserves more than what he is going to end up with. But I feel like he is the type of guy to stay loyal and will love nothing more to finish at Adelaide.

Coniglio comes across as a terrible captain, just so uninspiring. Would be surprised if he’s still their captain in 12 months.

I almost felt sorry for him until I remembered they're paying him $7m over 7 years. **** me.

Netflix, Stan, Spotify - where does it end?

I'm not subscribing to any more. $15 here, $7 there, $20 over there. Its not hard to spend over $50 a month on this stuff.

I'm sure by the time I've finished work for the day it'll be there in HD, for free.

You've forgotten Disney+. They just added Disney Star a few weeks ago and it's full of great content. $89.99 for 12 months or $8.99 per month, iirc.

WTF? It was their last game of AFL for months. Everyone knew at the time the layoff was going to be for weeks. I had no problem at all with them sharing a few beers on the ground after the match.
you're entitled to your opinion, no probs.

Now, at the time, it's until further notice, noone knew how long the break is going to be, not even world COVID experts.
But let's assume for a moment that the OK came from the top, from Simmo himself...that "boys...we're on a break, who the f*** knows how long....grab a few beers.."

Just for me, can't speak for anyone else, IF I was a pro athlete who's done a proper preseason to get in shape, I wouldn't suddenly get on the grog at the drop of the hat, just me.

So, assuming the directive to grab a few beers came from Simmo, then don't f**king complain about standards slipping:

Leon Cameron's speech was pathetic. If I was a member (who had shelled out $681 for a 2021 membership) I would be asking for my money back.

It reeked of a man who has no concept of neuroscience or motivational psychology, and one who lacks ability to build engagement and connection. You can't build a successful culture with amateur hour rubbish like "home truth conversations are the best part about being at footy clubs"

No attempt to seek to understand his men...and masks that lack of wisdom with "daddy knows best" archaic mindset bulls**t.

Starting to twig as to why there's been a gradual exodus - Cameron, Zwilliams, Corr, Caldwell, Langdon...and all those high performing guys in years past.

And then think about the old senior heads like Ward and Griffin - learned under Eade at the Bulldogs which was no different (so they could do little to influence proper growth). Wonder what Deledio thought of the culture?

Why? It's not like he'd crossed over from a winning culture at that stage.

His body language is poor too, no confidence whatsoever

Cogs didn't look great to be sure, but rather then writing him off I was struck by the lack of support he seemingly got from Cameron and the playing group bar Shaw. Don't think Cameron could have handled a young, nervous captain any worse, publicly berating him all the time and then dropping him to send a message no one is untouchable. Kept saying he would back him in but did the opposite at every turn. The playing group stuff was a bit weird, but might have just been how it was edited together, I'm sure guys did get around and support him.

As much as he looked out of his depth, have to wonder how a rookie captain is supposed to succeed in those conditions.

I hope it gets better for Leon Cameron and Coniglio. So far they been the worst performed in terms of how they come across. I struggle to even understand what Cameron saying most of time and Conigs way of talking does not feel like a captain type, even though he trying. I do not feel like his players buy into his statue theme but maybe Heath Shaw saved the day for him by projecting some genuine meaning to it for him in that moment. Dew so far is easier to follow as a coach than Cameron as a viewer.

It is good we get to see role of coaches, captains, CEO, President, players, family, club staff etc. Gives a good human story element to it so far of the craziness of the Co-Vid stuff unfolding at start of 2020 season. The people making doco getting a two for one value in making it by luck of timing of making it. They got a sports doco and a Co-Vid breaking doco in two.
If you like this stuff, definitely watch the rest of Amazon’s sporting doco stuff especially the all or nothing series.th

They had beers after normal games too if I remember correctly. Not just after it was announced it has been put on hold
