Emmanuel Adebayor is almost certain to leave Manchester City at the earliest opportunity after his relationship with Roberto Mancini finally boiled over this week.

The Togo striker had to be restrained by players and staff after bursting into the Italian's training ground office with proof of a torn muscle, an injury Mancini had initially brushed off as nothing more than a dead leg.

Former Arsenal man Adebayor was dismayed to his boss thought he was feigning injury.

He hasn't featured for City since coming on as a substitute in the defeat by Sunderland last month and claimed on the eve of transfer deadline day that he would welcome a move away.

'It all kicked off between them,' a City source told the News of the World.

'There is nothing worse than a manager accusing a player of feigning an injury.

'Adebayor might not be playing well, but he would never be so unprofessional. He was furious.'

This week's incident is not the first time the pair have clashed. Adebayor again had to be calmed by City staff after he was dropped from the side on the opening day of the season at Tottenham.

He is one in a long line of players who were bought in by former boss Mark Hughes and have struggled to adapt since the Welshman was replaced by Mancini almost a year ago.

Real Madrid are keen on Adebayor, with Jose Mourinho making tentative approaches in the summer.

With the amount of big ego's at the club it was pretty expected to happen sooner or later. I doubt this will be the last time we see something like this happen at City.

Adebayor -> R.Madrid would be the best for all parties involved.

- R.Madrid would be the only club that would mirror his pay packet
- R.Madrid have only two strikers in their squad
- Both clubs cashed up and don't care what money they make off selling/buying players means a deal should be easily concluded.
- Ade would get guaranteed playing time ahead of Benzema (hack)
- Ade would benefit getting out of England
- Mourinho can manage him better than anyone else could

I heard Adebarndoor actually barged in because Mancini said he couldn't hit the side of a barn door and then Adebarndoor went out and tried it and succeeded when no one was looking... suspicious.

Just wait till Balotelli returns and demands game time. Not even Mourinho could deal with him so it doesn't bode well.

Really ruined Inters season too, LOL.

Better team, better manager, better leaders etc.

Right, so what you actually meant to say was that Mourinho coped with Balotelli in his squad just fine.

As did Mancini a few years before.

As Balotelli has gotten older he has become worse and worse. Do you think he will accept sitting on the bench when he didn't even want to do it at the Serie A champions?

Then you will have to drop one of Silva, Johnson, Gareth Average or Ade to keep him happy. I honestly don't know why Jo plays ahead of Ade however so Balotelli may take his game time but he wants to start most games ultimately.

You never know, your football dreams may come true, and he'll cause trouble at some point in the future.

Still, with a champions league and three league titles at the age of 20 I'd argue his ability to destroy a team isn't as strong as you would like.

He's only young though, plenty of time to change that.

Who gave Balotelli his start in the first place? It was a fella called Roberto Mancini, I believe. Any relation?

There's a lot of mutual respect there.

Indeed there is.

No guarantee of anything but I would guess that if Mancini thought he was unmanageable we might not have bought him. Just a theory though.

Alright then, who gets dropped for him when he returns?

Wow, football club in training ground bust up shocker.

Never heard of one of them happening before.

You would think it would happen at City more than other clubs with all of the big money buys they get but when you can afford to buy anyone who cares if someone is unhappy?

Mancini treatment of Adebayor has been pathetic and it makes me wonder about Citys transfer dealings. Clearly wasnt a purchase he approved off or a player he wants so why is he still at the club?
