There's plenty of variables. Median age of 42.7 vs our 38.7 and Irelands 36.8.

Just that age bracket alone near doubles the CFR.

Free Market does not mean 'unregulated market'. ASIC, ACCC, Consumer Protection etc exist for a reason.

Adam Smith was very clear that the Free Market (private capital and private ownership of the means of production) needed regulation (especially against cartels, monopolies and unfair trade practices that upset natural market forces).

Free Market = a [regulated] market where the means of production, and raising capital (and capitalization) are in private hands. Also known as 'Capitalism'.

Socialism = a market owned and operated by the State, where capital doesn't exist, and the means of production are in the States hands.

Mate, we're discussing economics and political theory here. Cant you just take for granted that Australia operates under a stable liberal democratic (Westminster) system (operating in a Federation) that maintains a Free market economy where capital is held in private hands, and which has been in existence since 1901.

Arguing otherwise is just ridiculous.

Yes CFR differs between demo but not enough to explain a 400% difference- particularly as we know hospitalization and deaths drop in Vaxxed Countries due to less severe disease.

I don't expect you to go through a bunch of posts to see how that discussion evolved. But I do expect you to not just make stuff up. There was no original "complaint".

On that measure you and I aren't far apart then. Where we differ is your belief that the state (and BF) have any role "controlling" disinformation. That is not how democracy works.

What should happen is the state puts out official advice and then millions of people disseminate/argue and otherwise prosecute the position. If the official position withstands the scrutiny of millions of intelligent people then the majority will support it. If not, then usually something was wrong with the original position. Democracy.

You may have missed the earlier post where I was talking about democracies thriving primarily because of their acceptance of the "argument of ideas"? Science functions like that too. Open debate is the basis of democracies and science.

The presentation of a theory (or policy) which then gets torn to shreds, and the prevailing position as accepted by most becomes the new truth. Its the sharpening of the theory that comes from its scrutinisation and democracy that differs from authoratative systems that demand adherence to a dictate.
