He needed to be brought back. He looked well underdone, but he still made a meaningful contribution.

He's only going to improve from here.

Had a good game today. Didnt have many possesions, but the one percenters he did really counted. The tap on's to players running past, tackling hard is all he needed to do

Was glad he played the majority of the game and got a bit of a run thru the middle. Better than coming on and off the bench, pinch hitting up forward.

Legend of the highest order. :thumbsu:

jenny61_99, you were WRONG!!!

What am I wrong about? My argument was that Jericho (a fit and in-form player) should NOT have been dropped for him (having not played for 10 months) - not that he shouldn't have been brought back at all! Get YOUR facts right Drummond.

Glad you got through the game unscathed Roo!

Should have come back via Westies last week maybe for a half even if it was in the reserves cause if he was fit for AFL today he was fit for sanfl last week big risk big mistake for mine

Credit where it is due here port brought tredders back through the sanfl

Yeah and Tredders has been awesome since that Norwood game.................

Not the point [good win by the way] in these days you cant carry injured players or ones who are under done i dont expect any one to agree with me but i woulde have not played him

Jenny correct me if I am wrong but I do believe you were saying Roo shouldn't be coming in?

For many of us I think that is something hard to overlook as it seems the most sensible decision to make. Who should have come out is a totally different question.

No I wasn't arguing that Roo shouldn't be coming in at all... I was arguing that Jericho shouldn't have been dropped for Roo. Quite a different argument really. - We have struggled to kick a decent score all year, and we find someone capable of kicking 2-4 goals and we drop him??? Imagine Roo kicking 4 (if he hadn't missed his two in the second) and Jericho chiming in with 3. Changes the complexion of the game completely!

You've taken your Jericho love to a new level by suggesting he should have been playing instead of Roo.
Think you may have lost your objectivity on this subject Jenny.

You keep harping on about his form over a number of weeks. Two weeks ago you were the only person that rated Jerichos game. Sure you have some support for his game against Carlton, but if you honestly believe that was enough to keep the greatest footballer to ever play the game for the AFC out of the team, you need to go and get some perspective.

I 100% think the decision to play Ricciuto and not Jericho cost us the game, Roo was hopeless for a half and not much better than that for the 2nd half looked so far underdone it wasnt funny. He definently should have played for Westies this week afte missing so much footy you cannot slot straight back into the AFL.

Jericho plays we win no doubt he has played well in his 3 games so far this season, i think its a sign that Jericho may as well retire coz no matter what he does he is only filling in until we get players back, he turned last weeks game by himself but nope not enough to get a game the next week.

Bad form from the selection panel.

If you read my posts you will find I was arguing for Jericho not to be dropped. At all. Regardless of who came in. This was based purely on his performances in the past couple of weeks. Serviceable in his first game, impressive in his second and a stand out in his third. I don't LOVE Jericho - I simply call it as I see it. If he were to come in and stuff up, I'd call that too. I am VERY objective - pretty much all the time. In a team that has struggled to kick big scores, Jericho seemed like a likely option to me.

As I have said in other threads, having Roo back is a bonus because I didn't believe he would ever play again. No matter who he is though (and tell me people are being objective calling for Roo to play no matter what or who he displaces , almost like the calls for Ben Hart to be kept in the team ) he should not be above the logic of team selection just because it is him. I assume by the fact that he was selected that he was capable of running out the whole game, and that clearly was the case - a pleasant surprise!

While I agree he should not have been dropped, there is no way you could say his being in the team would have changed the outcome with any certainty. I am hoping, as others have suggested, that Jericho will get another chance - and perhaps, just maybe, this week off will make him realise how much he wants it. Injuries to Perrie and Reilly should see him return next week.

Thankfully you live in a society where everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think you've read way too much into the 3 goals he kicked last week.

yeah i realise im fighting a losing battle as there is no way we could possibly question the inclusion of the great Mark Ricciuto but u tell me he didnt look completely unfit and not ready(again i expect argument here as im questioning Mark Ricciuto)
