Agreed. I voted Ricciuto because I genuinly think he was a better player, but people are constantly selling Tredrea short on bigfooty and in general. He was one of if not THE premier forward in the competition for several years, including his outstanding 2004 where he lead Port to a flag. I still think he's a prick, but 'is this a joke lol' comments are unwarranted, I reckon it's an fair comparison.

i might be biased but i'd take a champion chf over a champion midfielder any day, simply because they are so much rarer. like a lot of port fans, i couldn't stand roo, but unlike most i admit he was a gun (not as good as mcleod though, but idiots use the brownlow to put roo above macca)

Absolutely correct. If I were to pick a midfield Roo would be amongst the six. But if you ask any AFL coach they would pick one of the following, Brown, Riewoldt, Tredrea, Carey or Dermy before any mid-fielder in the last 50 years.

My point exactly. The Crows have a top quality defensive six, a good midfield but nothing up forward. And have so for the last 10 years. Where has it got them? The Crows do well in the stats for inside 50s but dont kick big scores especially against good teams. They bought a Carey past his use-by date. They tried Roo up forward, and Goodwin this year. And still got nowhere.

Good mid-fielders and defenders keep you in the game, forwards win you the game.

PS. The egg came before the chicken, dinosaurs and fish laid eggs.
