Mark Williams (Hawks) anyone?

Mark Williams, a bloke who has been leading goal kicker for the Hawks for a few years prior to injury and he can't get a game for them.

Yes he damaged his knee, but by this time next year he'll be well and truly over that and he's another forward that we'd be dying for.

Seriously I think we should try to poach him... if the Hawks don't play him much this year, I think just enticing him to come to our club where he'll probably play each week would be enough to entice him to come over for a reasonable pay cheque!

I don't think that he'd fit too well into our structure.
We need more of a strong key position forward. That is what is missing in our lineup, but i wouldn't mind having Williams having said that.

Maybe if we got him cheaply enough...coming back from the knee injury has hampered him a lot ...he's not the player he was .

I'd be looking at some of these mid level geelong players. I think they will put up the cash to pay Bartel and Ablett a reasonable amount (they will be willing to take some type of pay cut) but I can see some of the other guys struggling for decent cash. A guy like Kelly or Enright maybe.

The one I'd love though is Prismal. A gun in and under and just what we need. Would be in any other sides best 22. I'd trade a 2nd rounder for him in a second. Varcoe is another one who isnt getting much opportunitty.

Also Hunt is a great kick and could play a lock down role on a small forward

I appreciate the comments, and I hope for his sake he doesn't have a Knee disease.

But I guess if he got the medical all clear, he could be a real value (as in cheap $$$) for us. Fev, Fisher, Eddie, Williams, +CHF... could be quite a formidable outfit.

I hope our club is already thinking to trade week seeing who is out there for us to get. Maybe get Judd on the phone to talk to a few now

I would be staying clear of Hunt. He is one of the few weak links in the Geelong team. Although he is a long kick, much like Chris Bryan, he is prone to spraying his kicks & turning the ball over. He maintained his spot in the Geelong side, come finals time by default, last season, because of the injury to Egan. I agree with your thoughts on Prismall, but I don't think Hunt would add anything to our team in the coming, exciting years.

Prior to his knee injury he had 2, 60 goal seasons, he has shown he can play consistantly.

1) Mark Williams will never be traded from Hawthorn. They love him, and have shown so much faith in the kid his whole career.

2) He hasnt played any football, its not that he cant get a game at the club! He didnt even play in the Box Hill opener! He will play this week, his knee is treated on a week to week basis. If he plays well, and pulls up fine he will play the next week.

You would have to get rid of Fev to make salary space. Kangas have the most space at the moment, but the fact is Brown will not move.

Williams may be small, but he plays tall -he's a marking forward, as someone else already mentioned, similar to Lappin.

We have plenty of tall marking forwards: Fev, Fish, Edwards, Harts, Setanta, Waite when no longer needed in defence, a resting Kreuze/Hammer; we need small crumbing forwards....NOMINATE ELLARD!!!
