Okay, have slept and am sober for the minute.

This could either be fantastic or a disaster depending on his fitness. Having said that, he's had one knee reco hasn't he? How many players have had a reco and gone on to play out their careers with no problems? Heaps. Would a club not want Hille because he had a reco? Do we think his career is now over because of it? Of course not.

Assuming fitness then we know he's a fantastic shot for goal and a strong mark and although I'm still having trouble picturing him in the red and black I find myself quite happy with this deal this morning.

So welcome to Windy Hill Willo. :thumbsu:

FWIW, I can't really see the down side of this trade, we might get better players at 24 and 33 than we did 16.

Absolutely. 24 and 33 are still around the mark and how many times have we seen really high draft picks turn out crap with later picks becoming star players? Heaps.

Waste of a good pick. We're a devoping side who need young devoping players. we dropped lloyd a full foward and got another older dog.... complete waste

You should go down to Windy Hill and melt you're membership in a bon fire with the rest of us, we're heading down Sunday morning at 11am, I'm expecting 30-40k to attend...

First when i Heard we were giving up pick 16 i was shocked as i was getting used to the idea of 2 first rounders. However i put our team in a much better position to judge the depth of this draft or likelihood of getting quality players with picks 24 and 33 compared to 16 and 42.
The way i figure it Nash wasnt going to play AFL for us again. I had him on the delist category.

Therefore to essentially to trade Lovett + pick 42 for Pick 33, Pick 24 and Mark Williams and i think we are laughing all the way to the bank. Very good trade considering we had no power on Lovett who would have gone PSD

Welcome Mark Williams :D

I'll be there for sure.

Why on earth did we draft Port Adelaides coach? He is overweight and hasn;t completed a preseason let alone player a game for many years.

Hugely disappointed that we didn;t use our first draft pick to get Matt maguire.

And while I'm at it why didn;t we trade Lovett to Melbourne for their No1 pick.

Very happy with the interview on BomberTV.

Stated that he really wanted to come here (Knighta stated that was a pretty big part of it all), and the 3year contract part was never an issue. Obviously was a little nervous, but did pretty well.

Just logged on to BF to find this. In Vegas at the moment and missing out on trade week. Not sure whether to be happy bout this deal or not. He has been injured recently, as well as questions about his character. Remember the Footy Show talking about his court appearances a couple of years ago....

Anyways, all the best Mark.

2:02 Pick 58 goes from Essendon for Hawthorn's pick 89

Clearly part of the 4way trade, we must have been holding onto it just in case something popped up today.

Were never going to use the pick, so not a problem, does help the Hawks a little bit though :(

I was happy with the Lovett trade.
I was happy with the Williams trade

But this takes it too far
pick No.58 has gone from Essendon to Hawthorn. Exchanged for pick 89.

Who's coming to protest this, we's wuz robbed!!;)

This particular deal and its washup shows once again, how tired and redundant Sheedy and his crew, had become.

Yep, Sheeds over the years was basically shunned out by other clubs for his outlandish trade requests.

Should be good for you guys, with Buddy in the forward line and playing mainly off the HFF. Willo had little chance of making a big impact. Can he kick 70 goals a season again? Probably not as he lost a bit of pace on the lead. 50 is very likely in an Essendon forward line sans Lloyd and Lucas. He's still an awesome set shot and handy on the run.

Post knee issues he had a decent 08. He popped up in the big games in '08 namely the PF and GF to kick 5 and 3 goals when Buddy went quiet. He has the pedigree but I think the attitude wasn't there last year probably because of the restricted delivery (Buddy and Rough focused) and our policy of rotating mids through the forward line that devalued his role even further.

Good luck at Essendon Mark (well not too much).

I swear Hodge2Franklin is a closet EFC supporter. All he does is talk us up. :)

I feel he's looking for a sturdier wagon to jump on. Plenty of room on the Bombers pimp'd out ride pal!
of course he will have to change his username to something like "Prissa2Willo" <<-our latest 2 prised & stolen draft pick-ups.

but seriously fella, time to let go and get back on your own team's board huh? we got a great pickup and draft numbers while cleaning out our closet of duds and felons. you guys got royally screwed IMO.
Bombers 2010, watch out!! yer i came a lill too just meow

Sorry, just sick to death of people calling the Trade period a draft.
