The accusation doesn't smell right. Doesn't seem to fit with what Evans was trying to do before he resigned.

1. Evans was trying to do a backroom deal with the AFL & ASADA using his connections.
2. Evans attended the January 2012 meeting with Calzada so was clearly actively involved

It's obvious you have had no involvement in R&D tax deductions otherwise you wouldn't be calling it a leap of faith. It's a pretty basic approach to make sure all revenue related to the R&D is captured to maximise the tax break.

Can the club claim the players salaries as they were lab rats?

In the Dank/Bates texts, Dank refers to setting up the supplement program as a R&D tax break at Essendon (which was aborted). This may be what the above quote refers.

It's even more obvious that revenue is money MADE, not money SPENT. Revenue does not maximise a tax break, in fact any revenue related to the activity will reduce any tax advantage.

I can't imagine anyone at Essendon commissioning Hardie to do anything. I can imagine Hardie volunteering and being humoured after the story broke, and him presenting that as a grander involvement than it was.
