you're right...never noticed it...guess i had kayo and never bothered at the afl website.

Maybe not website as I don't go there for replays, but they've always been available on the app

30 mins on a treadmill or exercise bike = One classic quarter from an old game

Great way to knock off your cardio :P

Haven't they always been available 24 hours after?
I recall that you had to pay for them at some point, but I'm not 100% on that

YES !!! Downloading works......getting the Rich v Swans round 23 2016 when Rance put on the Superman cape.

(wait the minute...we got absolutely thrashed here...now which year was it 9 wins in a row to make the finals, ahhh 2014!!!)
Thanks for reminding me! Might go put on the first qtr of the elimination final!

some pointers in case you want to download the games.

you MAY have to open a new "private" window (i use mozilla firefox) for the video to be detected.

older games for whatever reasons are missing audio, I've downloaded 2017 GF and that's fine, older games like 2014 2016...etc...are missing audio, playing the video online is all fine tho.

I also commented that quality is a bit dodgy even at 1080p...but tbf, I was downloading a game in 2014 !!! 2014 didn't have 2021 tech back then.

I can’t believe I can watch the replays from the US. Was that always a thing?

prolly a sweetener for terminating AFL Live Pass this year. I def know that in the recent past...if I missed a game...then it's torrent or unofficial links, no free replays on AFL website. This should help out alot of ppl overseas (and in Oz for that matter), just no live action.

notes on downloading, games from 2016 and earlier seem to have audio go missing. Playing the videos online is fine. 720p
seems to be max quality for early games

Downloading games from 2017 onwards work fine...and at 1080p.

It’s a silver lining

It’s more than that for me. Realistically I wouldn’t be able to watch many live games anyway given my location and my hours of work but I was going to subscribe to watchafl.com for the odd live game if I could and then just view replays.

My first thought was to use a VPN and get Kayo but that ended up being way too much work and the quality wouldn’t have been reliable.

my experience is kayo quality is the best (of course, only Foxtel has 4K but then only for 'select' matches). NB: but I don't have watchafl, live app, Foxtel...from reading materials, seems like max resolution for watchafl, live app is only 720p.

I've downloaded 1080p videos from afl website and they seem to be of inferior quality than kayo.

but yeah, not counting live action, this is like all you can eat buffet 24/7....FREE...not that I condone gluttony.

Great for fans who need to research on other players/teams other than their favs.

(PC, actual ethernet cable, kayo quality never drops....wifi, mobile, not a fan)
