Now they've played multiple games and the first game of the season and they still look like they're warming up.

Yeah it was a clear red to Courtois for mine.

It's still denial of CGSO if there's a keeper in front of the player so Cahill potentially being able to block the shot doesn't mean much IMO.

At worst Gomis has a one on one with Cahill and no keeper, at best it's a tap in to an open net.

It was the right decision to send him off. Clear goal scoring opportunity, studs showing as he brought Gomis down-Courtois didn't make contact with the ball.

Disappointing second half, lost the half 2-1. Seemed like we were taking the mickey at the start. Seems like we were more interested in holding score once the subs came on (probably a little late.) Need to work in ironing out those errors.

Ah well, got a bit more work to do before West Ham. Plenty of positives regardless. Good to get the new signings a run. Nicely done.

No, considering my entire point was that their Pre-Season form was concerning as it suggested they'd start the season slowly.

Because "I told you so" merchants on the internet annoy me. Especially when the premise of their original argument was wrong (IMO) and remains wrong despite yesterdays result.

If Chelsea win their next five I doubt I'd even remember this discussion let alone feel the need to rub it in.

I suspect you won't be so keen to revisit a bookmark either.

As it happens I also disagree with Jatz about Chelseas pre season form overall. You just can't read anything into pre season results nowadays. I still expect Chelsea to be right up there come September. One game where they had a man sent off and could still have won doesnt change anything for me.

Which would be fine except that you'd made that point after 1 pre season game. Not at the end of their pre season. Had you made it then, I would have likely echoed your thoughts.
