I believe Chelsea were impressive yesterday. A point was a good result.

Grinded out a draw whilst playing a man down for 40 mins against quality opposition. They're a week behind most teams in terms of preparation, & unfortunately I can only see them improving. If squad depth is believed to be an issue, Jose will spend.
You thought Chelsea were impressive? I thought they were ok.

Swansea however were impressive. Im dreading playing them. Montero looked an absolute handful. Shelvey and Sigurdsson in midfield worked well together. Gomis was up and about and Ayew looks a terrific signing early on. Will cause a ton of problems for teams this season.

Yeah as soon as I posted I was expecting that sort of response! :p

What I mean is, they're the sort of team that will beat Barcelona one day and then lose the next week to Bournemouth.

And not just getting fluke results against the top teams like any side can, but genuinely causing them problems, before then really struggling against some of the lesser sides.

I know what I am trying to say, anyway! :p
I agree with what you are saying but Barcelona was taking it too far haha. Sure Swansea on their day could roll Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal etc... but Barca. Naaahhh.

Ole Ole, Ole Ole, Ole Ole, Ole Ole... COUTINHO HO HO!! COUTINHO HO HO!! COUTINHO HO HO!!

What a dire game. We looked rusty as hell but a bit of class from the magician sorted it. Such a big three points for us considering how tough our start to the season is.

Defence was woeful. Cedric was on the edge of getting a red, and they gave away numerous needless corners.

I wouldn't say woeful, they were unlucky with a deflection for the first goal and got done on the counter on the second.

Cedric looked class, assisted the first and almost scored a belter himself.

Add Classie and Bertrand and its a pretty strong lineup.

Southampton, West Ham and Swansea will take plenty of points off the top 4 this year

This could be the season where the teams from 7th to 10th that you've mentioned above could be closer to the top 4 than ever before.

Obviously still early days though.

I can't believe someone was trying to argue that Walcott was good and had shown loyalty. Honestly, what were his other options? Walcott isn't a striker and isn't first choice as a winger. He's good depth at Arsenal but that's it.

Amazing he's on 140k a week.

Disappointing to lose on opening day, but it's the first game of the season and I don't think any warning bells should be going off yet. But people love to jump all over a big team when they don't do well, so it's expected.

Spurs should enjoy being on level points while they can.

Yep. It shows preseason form means shit.

Long way to go.

Same thing happened to us last season, looked shit hot in preseason, convincingly won the community shield, then started the season proper half asleep.

15 point Cech is currently on -2 points for us, needs to earn us 17 points now!

Not sure that's always the case tbh.

We went undefeated in the preseason, while Sunderland struggled through theirs.

In the opening half, we blew them off the park. They didn't look switched on in the slightest.

It may not be vital but I do think it has some impact going into the opening game of the season.

I've been quite vocal against Walcott, I just don't think he's a good footballer. Certainly not a 140k a week one.

His agent certainly deserves that pay cheque.
