926 goals in 270 games. When people talk Dunstall, Lockett, Ablett, Carey, they should also speak of this bloke. He didn't hit his straps until 99 in his breakout season although he did start when the other fellas were still playing.

Although retired he doesn't get mentioned enough these days. An all time great who is right on par with the Abletts and Locketts of the footy world.

All time great yes. Ablett/Lockett/Dunstall level no.

Kicked 7 goals and had 30 touches as an 18 year old in his 10th game. Don't think we'll see anyone do that again.

Absolute gun, no one will doubt that. But on the samed level as Lockett, Dunstall, Carey & Ablett, no.

Agreed. Not very well liked during his playing days which I think has lowered peoples opinion of his stature in the game. One of the best FFs i have seen.

Always tore the dogs a new one, that much I'm sure of. Croft and Kretiuk would still have nightmares about this bloke.

He fell over too much, and his "GOTY" was an utter disgrace from the selection panel. That said, i still get nervous when i see an opposition player pick up some grass and toss it to check the wind. Carved us up a few times to be sure, probably could've cracked the 1K club if Knights wasnt such a moron.

A break out year in 99? He kicked 70 goals the year before and 63 before that.

If someone did that these days they would be declared the second coming of Jesus.

He was a draft concession wasn't he? Like OMeara and Hogan? How was he rated as a junior?

Interesting discussion.

All have tarnished their image as well in one way or another.

Dunstall - Working with Danny Frawley
Lockett - Racing greyhounds
Ablett - Playing for Hawthorn
Carey - Not being able to get the better of Jakovich
Lloyd - Publicly shaming TradeDraft

Reputation suffered from being around too close to the full forward golden era.
He does now what he did back then, he's considered an out and out gun
Certainly a better full forward than Kennedy who's probably considered the best true full forward of this era (noting Franklin/Roughead probably aren't "true" full forwards)

TheVelvetSledgehammer.

Top 5 all time best EFC player.

Superstar.

Absolute champion - but silly to suggest he should be mentioned with Lockett, Dunstall and Ablett. He is in next level of full forwards.

He's only inches behind them.

Would prefer to have Tony modra, especially if he wasn't injured and didn't start late.

As much as I hated Lloyd on field I really enjoy listening to him off it. Gives decent appraisals and doesn't shoot from the hip like many other former players or media mouthpieces. By god he is awkward though hahaha.

Diver. Thug. Moron who think's he very intelligent.

The boy could play though, but he's not at the same level as Ablett, Dunstall or Lockett as a FF.
