He was fine. The role didn't bring out the best in him but performed well. Would've liked him to play Crisp's half back role (which Aish had last week) instead and given more freedom. Makes the right decision, executes well and is smooth moving. It's hard to see him fitting in with our mix of defenders. Ideally you don't want him to play CHB. The roles he'd want are Goldsack and Howe like. Still not sure what our ideal mix is.

A good game, what l was hoping for. Right type of game, in the opposition we played for him to get some quality touches

He hasn't played senior footy for 18 months. Fair to say he's a little rusty. The club will maintain their patience and give Schazza every chance.

He made himself an option constantly all game and at VFL level would of been used (quite often he was on for the long switch but was ignored) if you pay attention on the replay you will often see him in space screaming for the ball waving his arms in the air. Would of had a much higher involvement if they used him as an outlet kick or on the switch.

He also ran hard to give an option over the top linking off HBF but again was often ignored.

Will take a while for the team to start to go through him, Phillips for one ignored him a fair bit (he tends to get blinkers on a bit).

Will only get better from here.

Didn't star but for first game back after so long out couldn't expect much more.....hope to see a break out game hopefully in next 4 to 6 weeks

Just happy.

Looks good for a first senior game in two years.

I like how we are putting together some talent down back with Howe the Berg, Maynard
And the big Dunny looks like he's been there for years.

I thought he was really good. There's a real sense of thank god he's got the pill when he's disposing of it.. there's was a couple of really difficult pinpont passes that he nailed as well.. the one into the 50 was a gem.

You can see the pick 6 in this guy quite easily.

First game back in an age, slotted in very nicely, here's hoping its finally the start of his brilliant career.

He is moving so much better this time around. I was a little concerned about his agility after his first knee, even more so after the 2nd. But he looks to have full confidence in them. If his body holds up, he's going to be a weapon for us in the future.

Knightmare as one of our resident gurus your take on today and where our Berg is tracking.

Looks all promising to me.

He just seems to be accurate by foot and makes good decisions.

So far so good

Here's hoping he can stay on the paddock after a horror run.

I was at Vic Country v Allies and Vic Metro v Allies at Visy Park. Given that, I missed the game.

Happy to comment if someone can source me a replay on here.

Scharenberg's VFL form has been exceptional though - getting better every week over that six week stretch, with his numbers consistently on the up. I wouldn't be shocked if he becomes our third best backman (after Howe and Reid) by seasons end. He has the all-around game that our other backmen just don't possess, with the others having their various flaws.

Slow start, ran the game out well. Easily a pass mark today. Love his kicking.

Doesn't sound like any problems.

I just want him to string a solid two months of match play in the 1s together. I think he'll prove a fair find.

Do you think he could push into a midfield role at any stage? At the moment he plays a bit like Grant Birchall which is fine, but I hope he can be more.
