Any update on his condition? Looked nasty.

There was no intent in the hit but i wouldn't be surprised if Grant got done, simply because he was off the ground when he made contact.

Hope i'm wrong though. Chris Grant just isn't the type of player to do anything malicious.

What really rankles is Gary Lyon is trying to blame it on Max.

Oh, and the fact it's delayed by an hour, so when they say, "We'll bring you an update on his condition ASAP." You know it's bull.

FFS take the footy off Ch. 9. Renovation Rescue instead of the footy. What a joke!

Grant couldn't get to the marking contest before Hudghton so he jumped and smashed him up around the head with a tucked in elbow.

Ch. 9 said the Saints medical team has just called an ambulance for Maxie.....no other info

Just saw it now.......i dont think he will be suspended, the damage would be from Max hitting his head on the ground for sure

Geez didnt think it would end up that serious for Max. Tough player. Seems to have a bad time in these pre season games. Got cleaned up last year in the Wizzer as well.

Grant...seemed like a fair bump but he did leave the ground. He may get one, at the most.

didn't andrew mcleod get suspended for 1 week for something very similar??? and i don't reckon matthew loyd was injured in that incident

Surely Grant will not go, was trying to take the ball on his chest & Maxy courageously backed into him. Unfortunate accident no more no less.

Grant infact tried to spin his body once he realised contact was imminent, in an attempt to decrease the impact. That said the Co@khead commentators would have Grant hung & quartered, amazing that 2 key forwards would choose to take this line of attack aginst Grant.

BTW can BT tell the difference between Bandy & Darcy ??? How many times can he stuff it up??

I'd be disappointed if Grant got suspended, he was up in the air going for the chest mark, when he made contact his arms were tucked in to protect himself, it was just a gutsy effort by Hudghton who put his body on the line.

last year i would have said a week just because he knocked hudgeton out. grant saw the contact coming after he had committed to the contest. Upon seeing the contact coming he has dropped dropped the shoulder into hudgetons back rather than trying to avoid the contact even though it would have been impossible to miss hudgeton completely.

After what we saw last week make that 2 weeks.

4-6 weeks.

Head high
Severe impact
In play

Only issue is intent, which goes from careless to intentional, hence 4-6 (dunno if Grant has a history in the last 3 years for a discount)

Personally I think 1-2 is fair.

4-6 weeks sounds good...

If Grant gets suspended for that then we all better get used to physical clashes coming out of the game. Grant was on the lead, Max was backing back, Grant was in the air when he saw him and could either crash into him and injure himself or turne side on and protect himself.

Not much in it, part of the game but I suspect he will go and the death of AFl as we know it will officially begin.
