DNF?

Aliens won game of the show, but it didn't float my boat. I voted for AC3, saw gameplay for that. It made me happy :thumbsu:
DNF=Duke Nukem Forever.
About to start story mode.. Can anyone remember how 1 & 2 finished because I can't.. Did we seriously not kill the people that killed his wife and daughter yet lol?
You probably know by now. But it's not really about that story anymore.

Yep, i had a recap of the story before i started mp3 but it wasn't really needed imo.

A couple of going that are not quite right.
Getting up from a good bullet time dive takes to long imo.
The cover system hasn't worked the way it should a few times.
No gamebreakers but more an annoyance than anything.

Yeah agreed. I'm surprised you can't just keep shooting while getting up, I'm sure you could in MP1&2. Might have to check out 1 again on PSN and see.

Agree on the cover system too. It's a little clunky, needs a slide to cover function too as the sprint is still very slow. I guess it's understandable as they paint Max as a slowly withering older guy. But I wouldn't mind that slight overlook.

And yeah on the story. It's really not a 'Max Payne' story. It's more just a story with Max Payne in it, if that makes sense.

I totally don't mind as he's a phenomenal character, but there's very little 'Max Payne' about the game. Apart from the one chapter so far, even then...it's more about knowing what his past was like as to why he is like what he is now.
Anyone else enjoying this game? What settings did u guys play it on and what aiming lock?
I'm loving it. Just finished 'Part 1' according to the trophies. About Chapter 8 I think I'm on now. Chapter 7 was a little dull with the latter half being (Not super spoilery or anything, just a gameplay hook)
on-rails
, disappointing that they needed to do that tbh.

I'm playing it on Hard (and boy is it hard!) with the Free Aim so that I could get more trophies.:p

I only have 1 trophy right now...:(

Up to chapter 7 and loving it so far.
Im only playing on medium with soft lock( should of gone free aim though, can you change it mid game?) and died a few times lol, i really need to use cover and bullet time more.

Anyone jumped on the MP yet?
Had a few games today and its not to bad, only played tdm but looking forward to some other modes.
Are we going to get a bigf gang going?

Also available now is some free dlc for mp called the Gorilla Warfare Pack.

Pause>Settings>Gameplay>Targeting>Soft Lock to Free Aim.

I play with soft lock. I use the cover system a lot.

Is there a way to throw grenades back? Annoying ****ers.
No, but I believe you can shoot them while they're in the air.

Currently up to chapter 7. GOTY so far IMO, oozes quality.

Still finding cover as the square button and reload as circle awkward at times, yet to try MP but I hear good things.
Wait till you play mp and you jump out of cover instead of reloading lol DEAD.

Finished up 'Act 2' today.

Still very much enjoying it. Unfortunately no 'trippy' sequences or anything really like it so far, but the story is very engaging. Still also nothing to really do with Max Payne and his history, just a story with Max Payne in it.

The combat is still VERY tough but I'm learning to deal with it more and take my time in cover better and choose when to come out. Although there have been some more than frustrating moments where I've had to have a lot of replayed sections.

GOTY so far for sure, but then again I've only played 1 retail game and the only other 2012 release is Journey.

Just got this gem today. Only played up to the first chapter today. I had to turn it off as I'm about to go get some Viet food and beer for the footy tonight. :D:thumbsu: Will be getting stuck into this tomorrow....I think I'm just about over my Gears 3 addiction.

Im still installing console update, setting up system, etc etc.

Will have very little idea what the controls are when i play it tonight, but at some point might head online for multiplayer if anyone's around on ps3, gamertag: killer-ontheroad

Enjoying it so far. I got EB to price match the good guys. $69.
I'm playing on easy & using soft lock aim.. :-)
Just cruising through & enjoying the story.
Anyone else had issues with dialogue completely cutting out in the cut scenes?
You can still hear background music or noise but no voice.
At first I thought it was intentional as you still get the words that flash on the screen but when it missed the voiceovers for an entire scene early in the game I knew it was bugged.

I didn't want to say anything as I thought it might just've been me. But yes, unfortunately I have.

Have some syncing issues too where the lip syncing goes off by up to about 5 seconds.

Completely breaks any immersion and is disappointing for sure.

One spot in the Favela's was particularly terrible (
Strip joint scene
). I restarted the game several times as I didn't have subtitles and wanted to know what was happening in the dialogue (plus it's a damn long scene). Have since chucked subtitles on so I don't miss anything in case it happens again.
Just reading the booklet. You can set up Crews for multiplayer.

Someone should start up a BigFooty crew so we can join up, compete against each other and co-op.
I can once I'm done with the campaign, not touching MP until that though.

On an impressive note in the game. The AI is easily amongst the best I've seen in a game. And they do it without overuse of grenades (seen in most 'impressive AI' games). They flank, rush, sit in cover if under fire, wait until you're not firing or out in the open. Just really impressive stuff.:thumbsu:

Yea the AI really is top shelf, i love how they try and flank you if you just sit in cover too long.

I had the skip/go silent for a second or two a couple of times, might turn the subtitles on now before i go any further just in case.
