I loved his efforts yesterday. The great thing about Max is he doesn't have to touch the ball that often to make an impact. 13 touches doesn't sound like much, but he just has that pure physical presence we all love to see.

On a related note, how was his marking yesterday? He took two absolute screamers from what I saw. Just great to see.

You're right about his importance to the side being more than just his 13 touches. Would love to see how many 1 percenters he had on the weekend. His bump on Bevan to allow SJ to kick his 2nd goal was awesome. :thumbsu:

Max Rooke doesnt read books, he just stares them down until he gets the information he needs.

When Max Rooke does push ups, he's pushing the world down.

What the hell happened to the rating of this thread? Rate it up people!

Another cracker from Max tonight. Not only is he a hard arse, I think his skills are actually under-rated too. A very reliable shot at goal and how was his left foot pass to Gamble in the 2nd quarter?

To the Max!

Don't normally post here, but I have to praise Rooke on tonights game. Underrated player and very important for you guys. I thought he was brilliant tonight with his tackles, tap ons, bumps, pressure etc., all the stuff that your average football fan doesn't rate because it doesn't get dreamteam points.
As has been said, that tackle on Cross was damn good. Gun player.

can he play chf like Hamill

Aaron Hamill — Height and Weight: 184cm / 94kg
Max Rooke — height/weight: 189cm / 92kg

Personally I think he should be used more like Hamill as a hit up CHF or forward flank. I will shut up now, because I dont think Geelong want to lose him with a St Kilda 2000 type team offering 3 years @ 600k

Max s**ts all over that sniper.

Max is rapidly becoming a force across half forward. He started as a back flanker come tagger. Only recently has he let loose up forward.

He has shown he knows where the goals are with snap or set shot, he can lead up, take out an attacking half back and is just starting to mark over head and like the best at CHF he is contesting going back into a pack and at least causing a spill.

If only he had taken on Hodge for longer last year.

Max is one big improver. Watch out next year.

You guys have got a gem there.... although rough diamond may be the more appropriate term! Fast becoming one of my favorite players with the Catters.... along with Enright and Chappy. Love the way he plays his footy. He's fair, he's hard and he's fearless. And he's got the Benny Hudson beard going too! :thumbsu: A footballer's footballer!

All true. By the way, you have a bizarrely interesting user name. Any idea about the meaning of your surname?

My girlfriend was worried about my feelings for Max. But after the GF she loves him even more than l do!

Geelong Legend Forever.
