DO i say any more....it should be national bib day this w/e; in protest of where this gr8 game is going to !!! even then; netball is harder....It'll be very interesting what Kennett will say in return of whats happened. Love Buddy or not - it's a f___g joke !!

Meh, got what he deserved. Elbow was out!

I really couldn't give a shit.

You appear to fail at basic knowledge of the incidents and the rule changes this year.

Go cry elsewhere.

Maxwell didn't get off. The AFL wanted to suspend him more than anything, but he got off on a technicality, that was changed immediately by Adrian Anderson.

I don't agree that Maxwell or Buddy should go, but that's beside the point. The fact is the rule is different at each snapshot in time.

Spot on. That said, taller players do have more duty of care not to injure smaller players. I mean, Sandilands laying a hip and shoulder on Boomer Harvey? Not going to work unless he gets down low.

A joke is an understatement. Imagine if Ablett missed a final with this crap. That's how we're feeling

A more realistic scenario is one of your dogs lining up Ablett and knocking him out in a final.

Yeah...Simon Taylor trying too hang his forearm out to dry on Junior...missing, then tripping over his own feet elbow first into the turf knocking himself out w the very forearm he was going to knock junior out with....comical :p:D:thumbsu:

WHAT?!

You mean the BF Hawthorn Board's media release didnt work?!?!

No ****ing way.

Oh Christ, that's awesome. Just ventured onto the Hawthorn board for the first ever time to see what you were talking about, and man is that some funny shit. What a bunch of tools. Protect the Reichstag, a bunch of anonymous nerds are on the warpath!

Look, I sympathise to a degree with the Hawk fans. It does seem a harsh penalty for what traditionally would have been classified as a fair hip and shoulder.

But.....by the way the current rules are written, Buddy was always going to get suspended. If you bump a bloke, rather than tackle, and make your objective the man rather than the ball, and then you knock the bloke out cold, then you are in big trouble. The AFL is very clear that it is the aggressor's responsibility not to hit the bloke in the head, regardless of the technique of the bump. And Franklin clearly hit Cousins in the head as he was knocked senseless. I am not saying that I agree that the rules are right, or that the interpretation is correct, but they are what they are.

The league has been playing under these rules and interpretations since the Maxwell incident earlier this year, so why is everyone up in arms about it now? Why wasn't the Hawthorn board up in arms about it in round 5, or round 13, etc?

No Hawk fan gave a rats about the rule until it was applied to one of their best players. If it was Renouf or Murphy or one of their other spuds, no Hawk fan would care now. The reaction of the Hawthorn posters has been nothing short of embarassing. Exceptionally funny (please see my thread on the "press release" that got closed down), but embarassing nonetheless.

Don't understand the hype around Franklin. All year players have been found guilty of weird things and not guilty of the bleedin obvious or worse not even reported. This is the AFL brand, made for armchair footy watching
