Does anyone rate his chances of getting a run this weekend, wouldnt have thought so but then Walsh made mention when asked by someone about Collingwoods top four hopes after the suspensions, that it might be a chance for McCarthy to step up (not sure whether mcCarthy was the only one named but he was the only one i heard)

N.B I personally would bring in Stanley & Cook before him at this stage but i'd also drop Toovey & Lonie and blood Barham and Mccarthy

Walsh dropped Dawes' and McCarthy's name in the presser.

Possible the club is using this issue as a chance to put the cue in the rack a little. Blood a couple of promising kids give them some exposure see how they pull up. Personally I would be fairly dissappointed if J-Mac got a run before Stanners but it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. I wouldn't be suprised or to dissappointed if there where 5 or more changes to the side this week and if all the players coming in are fairly unfamilar too the ones cook stanners jmac dawes barham all in the running

I think it'd be a case of Stanley AND J-Mac. I'd be surprised if they were choosing between the two.

There is at least two positions available in the midfield (remembering last week heath played almost soley in the midfield in his brothers absence) and i would think Lonie couldnt survive again after fridays efforts....

It was walsh, but it was just a comment made in response to a Journo commenting Collinwood's top for aspirations and season may be over he then stated "if we play a kid such as McCarthy and he does really well then A) no the season wouldnt be over and b) it would be good looking forward" - or something to the likes but Mccarthy (and dawes apparantly) were NAMED as the players who may make a difference

I watched it live on FSN 513 and don't quote me but I think it was Walsh that indicated that the decision to suspend Shaw and Didak gives the opportunity to blood a Dawes or a McCarthy.

Wasn't a categorical they will debut this week but a pretty good indication they are pretty close to selection.

Dawes, McCarthy and Stanley should all play this week. We have three forced omissions, and possibly an O'Bree injury to cover. Plus, I wouldn't exactly lose sleep if Toovey or Lonie were omitted.

I guess there'd have to be a reasonable chance that BJ is brought straight back in now though.

Iles Iles Iles. I really want him to play. He is good when he plays in our senior side. Some players just don't adapt that quickly. He does.

Good point.

Stanners and McCarthy were both emergencies last week, so they should both be in line for selection this week. That's my logic, anyway.

I wouldn't be against Iles getting a run against the Aints this week. Could play off HB and replace Heath. Played alright against them in the wet at the 'G last year. Was that his last senior game?
