Hey all,

Coming down from QLD I see the opening game for Richmond.
I purchased two seats this morning and have noticed I’m in section SM3 I wanted m3 but I’m hoping that The S isn’t standing for $65 a ticket ? I have seat numbers but curious what the S is
Thanks

Off the top of my head, M3 is in the Southern stand - which probably accounts for the S.

Edit: check google seating plan for MCG. You won’t be standing - dead sure you’ve purchased a seat there. You can sit on it, or even stand on it until security decide to get involved. You can probably lick it if you are that way inclined.

Really? I have never seen this on a ticket, every ticket I have purchased says either Bay: M3 or just M3, ROW J, SEAT 11
I went back and checked some of mine from the last few years, it's on the ticket summary they send you by email but not on the actual ticket itself.

By putting an S in front of it, you can be sure it’s not the seat. It’s more important for other letters that levels use I.e. Q - for example M3 Q11 - which one is the bay and which is the seat? By saying SM3 Q11 it clears the ambiguity a bit. Though that being said, S could mean ‘seat’ too so clearly not that effective.
On the ticket it has ‘bay’ above the M3 so the S isn’t needed.
That said, if you look at the details at the bottom of the white bar with the MCG logo on a ticket, it has your bay with the S.

Never heard of the S but of you have a row and seat number you have seats

That's correct. Its even on the new ones I just bought yesterday. Maybe its a ticketing code, because both Ticketek and Ticketmaster put the S in front of your section on your email.
