Browny gave his view in a veiled manner on the shenanigans at our club. Didn't comment on Black, but he shifted the conversation when they asked him if he was playing next year. Highlighted that people aren't exactly jumping out of trees to serve on the board.

I know it's an old one, but on Game Day today the only thing discussed form a Lions perspective about the us nearly taking down the Cats was that Tom Rockliff was good.

It's probably a good thing - we might surprise a few next year like we did on Saturday.

Yep, that old chestnut, if Rockliff was playing for a big Melbourne club he would get a lot more credit than he deserves...obviously a lot of journos and Bartel don't get any coverage of Lions games to form that conclusion.

I hope I'm not reading too much in to it...but I got the distinct impression that Blackie was talking about downtime in the offseason rather than he has ended his career.

Someone driving past in new farm park yelled out "one more year Blackie" and the way he laughed it off it didn't seem like it was the end...

The Brittains have shown to be fairly partisan when it comes to the Brisbane Lions since they left.

Brittain crapped on at length about us not playing Longer enough, and Polec being "completely out of the picture" whilst failing to mention Polec's injury history.

Also seemed to draw a blank about Docherty and Yeo, despite them getting regular games.

Made some other vague reference suggesting Lisle also wanted out after us "not developing him enough"

I found it a worthless piece of pap really.

He'd be an expert at that. "Now see this phone, I want you all to make a call and ask around for cash beCAUSE I AM NOT PAYYING THE ****ING FINE!"

And with that he was gone a few games later as the young players did not think that they needed to pay the fine imposed for abusing an umpire.
