Kellie Underwood on the Back Page siding with McGuire.
Then again, she's not really a died in the wool Aussie Rules fan (a Crows supporter - so her views don't count) :tonguewink:

So we're allowed to not like her for something other than her horrible voice?

Kelly works in the Melbourne media, still might harbour hopes of working for decent coin on the commercial networks rather than shitty ABC or Foxtel gigs, of course she backs Eddie.

I like Brereton as a commentator. No doubt he's more verbose than necessary or even reasonable, but when he eventually gets to his point I think it's usually a good informed one, even astute.

Dermie is interesting. At his best, he is a good commentator and I've heard him give good calls.

His worst is right down with the absolute worst of all time though, and I reckon he has been bad more often than good in the last few years.

Somewhat more frustrating to hear someone who is capable of more deliver shit calls, at least when you hear Ricciuto you know his braindead waffle is the best he can aspire to.

Dermott's biggest problem is taking an hour to get to the point & assuming players are football Einsteins.. he put that footy on the outer edge of his instep to lower the trajectory of the ball spin to hit his teammate lace out while under pressure all within a nanosecond.

Brereton has me reaching for the mute button faster than any other commentator - when he eventually finishes the points he tries to make, the play has well and truly moved on.

By the time he finishes his point the game has finished and the lights have been turned off.

No better time to bring up Port wearing it’s rightful jumper.

Why are we so timid to demand it, always talk about it likes it’s a special surprise.....

If Eddie becomes Gills replacement start a new league with all the interstate teams.

You would think that if the AFL was silly enough to consider McGuire as Gill's replacement the other Victorian clubs would kick like crazy and be able to veto it.

Some great local content from The Advertiser this morning.

These muppets dont even seem to realise that the Port captain wears #1!View attachment 889562

He's certainly one of the reasons I watch all non-Port games on mute and wish that there was a game noise only option for Port games.

Brereton would be ideally suited to cricket commentary.

Ohh God!! You've just made me realise he's the Ian Chappell of football commentary.

That's our tradition, they can't have it. I have it in writing that they aren't allowed to make their captain wear number one because ports own the number one and also own the title, captain and all affiliated properties.
I won't show you the letter though, just trust me because everything I say is true

As I've posted previously, Eddie is not going to take a demotion to take Gill's job. Whoever replaces Gill will still have to run all decisions past Eddie for approval.

Benny Gale seems like a logical successor, when he's had his fill of winning premierships at Richmond - turned a shit show into a mega successful club, former player's union boss, less likely to be awed by McGuire. Please don't let it be SHocking.

Handled the 2014 home jumper issue pretty respectfully too.

If it's Hocking we'll have different rules for every quarter.
