MELBOURNE is one of three Victorian clubs chasing Fremantle speedster Brett Peake, who told the Dockers on Friday that he wanted to be traded.

It is understood that Brisbane leads the race for his services, with homesick Brisbane ball magnet Bradd Dalziell requesting a trade back home to Western Australia.

Victorian clubs Melbourne, Essendon and Richmond have also shown interest in Peake, according to his manager Colin Young.

Yeah, that's a fair point, but he is one of those players that goes missing when things aren't going well for his team.

He can be pretty valuable when everything is going well though, but he really needs to be given the ball to succeed as he won't win it himself.

I wouldn't trade for him, I think Buckley is a better option to be honest.

I'd only take him as a freebie in the PSD if nothing better were on offer. He wouldn't be a total waste. We could make finals in 3 years time and he'd still be around.

Agreed, we want a Peake that is 20-23 and a good kick.

Haven't we spent the last 2 years drafing players who have good kicks and decision making?
Surely someone like Strauss and Blease would be better alternatives, than Peake?.
To be honest even if we were in contension I would not be happy trading for Peake.
