(Apologies in advance if I'm posting this thread in the wrong place!)

I am intersted to hear what types of memberships supporters think are the best (seats etc) and what membership packages the bigfooty crew will be purchasing for 2012.

Re: Members & Membership

I'll be looking at the Captain's Club membership. Guaranteed GF ticket (if Carlton plays)!

note: my facts may not be correct :p

You know it's NOT guaranteed. ;)

It's guaranteed access should Carlton participate and you go into a ballot !!!!!!!

Memberships will be released in the 1st week in November (next week)

I have Captains Club Gold Membership with reserved seating at the MCG & Etihad for all our home games.

I also have MCC membership.

Re: Members & Membership

Sounds good! What are the main benefits of the captains club? Other than the 'guaranteed' final ticket......

It will be my first year as a member and I can't wait!

Re: Members & Membership

I'm currently a regular H/A general admin member. I'll bump that up to Captain's Club cause i don't want to miss out on any chance to get tickets if we make the GF.

I'd say there will be a lot more Captain's Club memberships sold this year. You'd want to get in early.

Captains club is guaranteed grand final ticket subject to Carlton participation. You've got no idea

Guaranteed access !!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't mean you will get a GF ticket if Carlton participates.

You also go into a ballot.

I received a flyer at the start of the finals this year and I had to register in the ballot by a certain date if Carlton were to make the Prelim.

Straight from the CFC website:

"Guaranteed access to buy a Grand Final ticket, should Carlton participate."

You lose

I daresay CC memberships will be a tad more expensive next year, or possibly even capped. I've been a social club member for 12 years now so hopefully I get preference over the other bandwagon punters

I am not sure why you are trying to inflame the situation, but I know for a fact that you go into a ballot.

You are NOT guaranteed a GF ticket, you are guaranteed access as I have posted above which is exactly what you have posted, yet you say I have no idea and I lose.

Participating GF Clubs are allocated appr 12.5K tickets each & out of that allocation, appr 6.3K go to Captains Club, Club 17 members etc. who have priority access.

Of course members are going to miss out.

Check with the Club.

That is my final say.

Are they still gonna have that Club 17 crap upgrade with the FM radio and the GF tix?

Re: Members & Membership

I have a general admission membership. It allows you access to general admission seating for home games.

It's all you need if you want to support the club, watch their games, and all without spending an excessive amount of money.

This.

The only times I've sat at the footy is in my earlier years, Round 22 vs Melbourne in 2007 (the Kreuzer Cup) and this year's Elimination Final. The best environment is standing up with the piss heads. :thumbsu:

To pay for all of that you must be selling....

I'm a full MCC member and would love to give more to the blues directly but a man has his limits and no money tree :-(

Just got a letter from CFC – there is a new membership structure for next year and to maintain reserved seats on Level 2 at both venues, requires an upgrading of the membership type from what was Premium Gold. The new memberships are:

Captains Club Reserve Members – level 2 at both venues
Members Reserve – levels 1 and 3

If I want to keep THE SAME GRADE of membership i.e. now called Members Reserve then my reserve seats will move to levels 1 and 3 or i have to upgrade to keep my level 2 seats. :(

Anyone know anything more about this?

I received the same letter Yubby, I was going to upgrade to captains club anyway, just hoping I can keep my existing seats as they were pretty good.

I think the last two years there has been a waiting list for level 2 reserved seating so the whole supply and demand thing has probably forced their hand here.

It's good news for the club, we don't have as high membership numbers as some of the other clubs but our revenue per member would have to be one of the highest.

Its an absolute money grab. Been a gold member for 15 years and continued to pay top dollar for my membership and attend all vic games even during 2002-2008 when losing by 5 goals was a good result.

Now that we are up and about again and the bandwagon is filling up, loyalty to the people who have stuck by the club in the dark times goes straight out the window. not impressed at all by this decision at all, if i didnt love the club so much i would not renew at all, but the greedy bastards will still get my money.

Quoted for truth, great post

Been doing it for years (since 1999) as it gives you guaranteed access to purchase a Grand Final ticket. To clarify, this means that if you turn up to purchase it you will get one, same as any other week of the finals for CC members.

It's not a guaranteed ticket as they don't send it to your door with flowers and a love note. If you have the money and you turn up, you get one. The ballot in this instance is merely a registration of interest (incase of illness or being overseas), not a ballot to see who gets selected.

Trust me, I've been through it before.

I definitely see where you're coming from however, I am with their decision on this.

What I don't like is that they didn't offer any information on what our options are or any assistance. Unfortunately we are still well below par with regards correspondence with members.

I understand your annoyance, but you're a bit slow on the uptake if you've only just understood that football clubs have no loyalty.

We pay each year (in my case for over 20 years) and get recompensed with entry to the matches and any other entitlements that you've paid for. The deal ends there.

The Club can do as it likes in relation to price increases. If you don't want to pay it you don't have to.

AFL Club memberships are still very reasonably priced in my opinion.
