"Can you remember what people were saying about Hawthorn in 2005 when they finished 16th with five wins? What about Collingwood the same year, when they also finished with five wins? Or Carlton in 2005, 2006 and 2007 when they couldn’t win more than four games in a season".

Lets just hope the club review identify's the need to improve our recruiting department. Looking at the 3 poor years for Carlton (from 2006-2008) they were able to add some good talent in the draft and complete some pretty big trades following those years. I would consider the following 9 players during this period as a great effort (Gibbs, Hampson, Jacobs, Kruezer, Judd, Yarran, Robbinson, Garlett & Warnock).

I still can't see us doing any where near as well considering 2 of our 3 big name recruits this year were McCarthy & Renouf.

"Firstly, thank you to those who turned up at AAMI stadium and roared the house down when our team really started to mount a challenge in the second half. But less than 14,000 just doesn't cut it I'm afraid. To be honest, it's somewhat embarrassing because it could look as if we've given up on the team and the club".

KT is not one to sugar coat things. The crowd was embarrassingly small on Sunday.

Of course you can argue that you get the crowds you deserve but it's times like this when the club needs its supporters. I hope those statements by KT are enough to get more supporters to the game. It would be a real shame to see us break another record for the smallest crowd.

^^ Yep.

KT made a big point about language on Wednesday night. He said among other things that he has learnt Port people want to be told things straight.

Bresh, BornPort both right. The club and separately the team have not earnt everlasting and unquestioned support. On the other hand 'supporters' not turning up, not buying memberships cripples the club.

Some of us are blameless. I've missed a total of one game (for my dad's 70th) the entire time we've been utterly shit. I think i deserve a prize.

Of course, sorry I didn't mean to imply every supporter was at fault. We do seem to have more then our share of fair-weather supporters though.

I hate when people talk about our time at the bottom as if it is comparable to any other clubs down period over the last 10 or so years.
The problem with that is we are only really compared to one other club, one that has so little in common with us that the comparison is worthless.

Don't get me started on the mentality of because we are losing taking your bat and ball and not buying a membership etc and having a cry. I reckon we inherited that mentality from the West Lakes crowd

I see it more as disillusionment with mismanagement than just losing. KT seems to be changing that but he is starting from a long way back and it will take time.
