If the Mitch Clark situation taught us anything is that money talks. Downside is that Butcher would have to be a trade whereas Buddy is a free agent.

He would come to the club in the knowledge knowing we need a KP forward.

Also keep in mind on one thing....

Go look at what Freo recruited in the 2008 draft and rookie drafts. Sure we didn't secure a key forward. But we got a couple of good, solid mids, 2 very good forwards and a versatile ruckman.

Dont worry despite the lack of a key forward, it didnt prevent freo winning games without Pav.

I agree. Isn't he on the rookie list? It used to be that players on the rookie list couldn't be traded - have they changed that now so that rookies can be upgraded onto the primary list and then traded? How does it work?
