Burner1 Great post.
Crawford has never been a leader at the HFC, great player no leader.
Everitt has sulked since we decided not to give him a two year contract and on current form why should we.
Clarkson is on the money, he got rid of two non leaders in Hay and Thomson
for 4 first round draft picks for the benefit of HFC longterm.
He has put the future of our club before himself and it about time some of the senior players did the same.

Our whole rotation gameplan is something I disagree with. Being the fitness fanatic that Crawf is, he likes staying on the field and eventually wearing his opposition down. I know you can't make exceptions to the interchange gameplan, but surely we can at least give Crawf that and spare him an interchange?

I suppose that this might add to Crawf's longevity though ...

You have got to be joking when you say crawf has never been a leader for the hawthorn football club. He has been one of the hardest working, best leaders that I've seen. As captain he had the ability to light up our teams performances through his own brilliant game. How can you not be inspiared and motivated as a player watching crawf as your captain gather 30+ possesions and work hard and fight hard for his team. I remember a game a few years ago when sam mitchell was in his first year and missed an easy shot at goal against the kangaroos. The only player to go over to him and tell him to keep his head up was Shane crawford, the captain. Thats what leadership is about, encouraging your players, leading by example, and in my opinion shane crawford done that exceptionally well as captain, and he still does.
